I noticed this all game too. Schotty refused to send anyone on a slant pattern the entire game. Sanchez had to make several miraculous escapes just to find open receivers.

Jim Leonhard's 18-yard punt return with 24 seconds left in overtime set up Holmes, who has repeatedly come to life in crunch time. He drew a pass interference call that set up the game-winning touchdown in Denver in Week 6 and had a 52-yard catch and run that set up Folk's game-winning field goal a week ago.

This time, he implored offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to call a slant route against Wright, who had been playing soft coverage all afternoon.

"We never ran a slant all game," Holmes said. "We called it at the right time."

The Jets offense would be so much better if Schotty werent dumb.

The route where Dustin Keller essentially ran along the LOS when we needed a first down = wtf

We would do more slants if we had a legit slot receiver, but Holmes is capable and proved that he can make the big play when needed.

Don't know what you mean by Legit. Holmes, Keller and Cotchery are all strong in the slot.

I did say this about 15 times, why don't we run slant routes on 3rd and 4-6? Braylon is a big target, give him the hot slant route when the other teams blitz and let him make a play.

When we have all 3 guys healthy, Sanchez has all the weapons he could ask for in order to expand his development. We really need to have some continuity with the receiving core in order to help Mark reach his full potential.

Slant's arent that hard to do, Idk what the big deal is with Schotty. Also when are we going to use Brad Smith to pass? he ran so many times all game that if he had faked one run, we could have had a big pass play.

That's ridiculous seeing how good Santonio is at running slants.

Holmes is pretty unstoppable on slant pattern, the fact that schotty doesn't call slants designed for Holmes is bizarre.

Imagine Brad Smith throwing a deep pass to Holmes out of the wildcat...

Slants are dangerous in your own end because Sanchez tends to overthrow them and that's the one that goes off the receivers hands right to a waiting DB.

Stop with the brainless Schotty bashing guys. We don't know what goes on in the game and we got the result we wanted in the win. So we don't even have a leg to stand on with all the bashing. Fools.

Ummm, yes we do. You act like we won in convincing fashion with an unstoppable, high octane offense. The only reason we won was some luck and heroics by Sanchez.

How about the deflected pass to Keller in the endzone where he and Cotchery were stacked right on top of each other?

I think Abyz was the one mentioning that he's never seen an offense with to receivers right next to each other so many times?

    lol.

This is a legit complaint. I bet you won't want to talk about the great long drives he called that were ultimately ruined by stupid penalties though.

Being sarcastic about it because of the other thread on the board. But the reason we won wasn't because of luck and Sanchize heroics. It was more than that.
