Braylon is a better deep threat and a lot larger. Look what he did to McCourty...

Holmes is more of a playmaker, once when he catches the ball he extends plays like theirs no tommorow. At this point Holmes and Burress is the best option with our cap and crap. Burress is one of the best redzone recievers and is a large target.

The bottom line though is we need whats best for our offense at the lowest possible cost. We are a defensive team and that should be the top priority. Offensively we are a running team, so passing should be the least important. Sanchez offensive numbers will improve no matter what. He will throw more touchdowns next season regardless of what receivers are out their. Im not going to get to caught up with the receiver problem cuz I know Sanchez will have better numbers no matter whos out their.

The Bears actually are about 37 million under the cap and have a ton of money to throw around. The way the new CBA is looking, they are going to have to spend it, too.

Oh, really? Thanks for the info. I had no idea they were in that great of shape with their cap. Ugh.

Because LaCanfora wasn't the only one who reported the Bears possibly wanting Holmes or Rice thing, either. So, I sort of believe the smoke might not be fake.

Wyche said this week he'd heard the Bears WR want list went Holmes-Rice-Santana Moss-Plaxico Buress, in that order.

I truly hope that the new CBA provides for teams to re-sign their FA's before they hit the market. The more and more analysts start to open up about FA the closer we get to a deal, the more it seems like it would be for the best if Holmes doesn't truly get to the market, maybe we can just... Lock him up in that window, that is hopefully provided.

That doesn't sound too likely for Holmes. He sounds like he's going wherever the most money is, so I'd be shocked if he didn't test the market.

I haven't heard that from Wyche, that is interesting. Do you have a link?

I don't have a link, but I'll try to find it again. Apologies if I don't find it.

I think the origin was chicagofootballtalk or something similar, and it came up because Devin Hester allegedly commented he'd like Santana Moss on the team per some reports, and then Wyche was asked about Hester's comments, and responded with that commentary about how Moss was on a short list. At least as it was paraphrased and extrapolated in what I read. I'll see if I can find it.

Getting into a bidding war with the Redskins would be awful...the Redskins will probably give him a 6 year 60 million dollar contract with 36 guaranteed.

I'm not surprised to hear that they plan on going after Holmes.

I have no problem with them going after Kris Jenkins. This will be his retirement package. I just don't think he is going to stay healthyand the Redskins are a great team to not play for.

I'm going to feel bad for Kris, since he won't be happy on a team for the first time since Carolina.

But I won't feel too bad, because they're going to pay him a shitload of cash.

I have had my own opinion and It has not changed. I think we should let him walk and sign everyone else that we need. He is going to demand the most money.

Why give that much money to ONE guy, when you could spread it out and sign multiple guys?

I felt like the offense struggled more with, Holmes. He had a few clutch plays down the stretch, but he was fairly inconsistent in my mind.

It's going to be fun to see how this all pans out, I just hope we do not get screwed this offseason.

How can you guys realistically think Jenkins is going to the Redskins ?

The ONLY and I mean absolutely ONLY reason I could see him going anywhere other than the Jets is if he DESPERATELY wanted to play with his brother and a team would be willing to sign them both.

Do you not remember that big Jenks absolutely fucking LOVED playing for Rex, and theres little doubt in my mind that unless he plays as a Jet hes going to retire.

    Hell this wasnt long ago

This guy isnt going anywhere except maybe to be an announcer.

Mostly the giant truck full of money that the Redskins are going to be stupid enough to offer him if they're the same Redskins we all know and love to mock.

Of course all of that talk was just speculation between a few posters based on speculation reported by a second-hand source.

My best realistic guess as to Jenkins' future would be retirement because I really don't see any reason for the Jets to want Jenkins back on the roster as a player. He had one season with a severe, lingering back injury followed by consecutive seasons ended with due to a tear in the same ACL. He's just not a smart investment for the Jets as a player.

Odds are he will probably retire.

That said I wouldn't be shocked if he was willing to come back in a similar fashion to LTs role on the team. Come in be a leader on the Dline, show the rookies (who will have absolutely no training camp this year) the ropes and how to be successful. And possibly have some sort of option to be back for one final year.

Obviously the ONLY way the Jets would take him back is if he was willing to come here on the cheap (which is totally plausible) and Rex really wanted him here (once again completely plausible).

And the biggest thing would be if he is back it certainly wouldn't be in the same role as previous years, and it would give Rex a ton of flexibility about moving guys around the Dline with all that depth.

We needed both those guys to beat Peyton. We beat them passing it too. Be a shame to lose either one.

I never expected Holmes to play for us beyond last year since he will be looking for the best deal possible.

Sign Edwards to a fair contract and use the saved money to resign Cromartie and Harris.

Holmes has the flash and sizzle, but is the most expensive thing on the menu. We have too many players we need to resign in this short lockout season.

He has stated he wants to play on grass, that kind of knocks us out. I think he kind of owes us a low $ deal to come back but I think he's going away and that spot very well could be w/ the Skins.

  18. Grass. The guy is worried about his knees, and wants to play his home games on grass.

Maybe Holmes should lay off the grass too.
