so wait let me make sure i have this right. some are saying that the jets leaked information that holmes is their number 1 priority in order to get braylon edwards to realize he is NOT that important to the jets... which will make him sign for less WITH the team that he is NOT that important to. and the jets are going to save money in signing him because of this and THEN after they sign edwards they are going to go and sign holmes who they have used as leverage with edwards... because now that he realizes how important he is he will just cave in for the sake of the jets. so we will get the guy who is worth less for less than he is worth and then we will get hte guy who is worth more for less because we told him he was worth more.

The situation is the Jets roster is relatively more unsettled than average, the labor negotiations are a real wild card, too, add in the usual off season lack of real news leading to sports writers coming up with stories that have nothing more in substance than speculation, which in their cases are not even educated guesses, and you have a lot of articles out there that are just not worth anything. Personally i think it unlikely that Tanny will tell some media hack what his strategy is before he goes and pursues it.
