I don't get all the hate for Stephen Hill. I mean he was obviously a bust for us at a high pick, but that's not his fault. I don't think his problems had to do with him not doing something, it was just a lack of football talent. He seemed to work hard on his stuff in training camp, just couldn't get the catching part down, which is probably an inborn talent to a large degree. So, Jets made a mistake, but why all the hate now. Mistakes happen, and if any of us were in Stephen Hill's shoes, we probably wouldn't have done anything differently. P.S. when he blames the media, think about it from his perspective, fans and media have been badmouthing him since the beginning pretty much, and if he was really trying to improve, i could see how that would piss him off.
Produce? Mark Sanchez says hello. He never got the benefit of an OC. Winning Playoff pct? Hill, had a bad OC then a bad QB. Both players took it in the @$$ from the media. How's Sanchez looking these days?
Name the good Wrs this coaching staff has developed. Bullshit. Kerlety..Under utilized, Holmes, Edwards, proven talents..wasted... when do we start looking at the level of LACK OF F@@@@ing talent between the HC and the field..
I hate the media as much as the next guy, and things were tough for Hill having to adjust to different QBs and systems in his first 2 years, but the media didn't play those games for him. The media didn't drop the passes. Yes, they over did it with criticizing him, but they aren't to be blamed for his lack of success. I suspect this will motivate him to step it up next year and give it another shot. It's too bad, though, because I really thought he was going to turn it around.
I was a supporter of Hill when he was here, but if he didn't spend every waking spare moment learning how to catch with his hands, he has no one to blame but himself.
