You assume that empty seats matter to the team. It depends. If they sell 100 seats at 1000 they have to sell more than double at half price. I think that the franchises dont believe they can AND also believe that they dont devalue those tickets by keeping them high. I think that the Devils for years kept prices high -- and seats empty -- just for that reason.

You will never see it because the difference between baseball and the NFL is Jet games will not be shown on local TV including the Ticket and they will not lift it. That's gonna fire people up. Should be interesting.

What a difference a "T" makes. You had me going. It was starting to look like you were succombng to Woody's Siren Song.

Stay strong... you're sitting in a great position for the uppers. We all have to "just say no" to this PSL bullshit.

i dont see the end zone psl as giving in. the sideline $700-$400 per seat tix price is just rediculous.

The end zone is the most reasonable but it's still an inviation to get hosed. Once they've got the PSL you're stuck. Okay, the seat price is reasonable now, but what happens after Woody doesn't sell many of the others and then realizes he didn't charge enough for the end zones since they all got taken up,

"Oh well... simple solution for that! Start raising the ticket prices by 10% per year and in 7.5 years we'll have doubled the end zone seats!" Now you want to sell but it's too late. Nobody wants the now-expensive seats and you can't even get ahlf of what you paid for the freaking PSL.

But hey, you could use your seniority and get some pretty good seats there (maybe), so who am I to deter you from exploring them when the rep calls? I just know how woody has operated since taking over and I just can't trust the guy anymore.

Unless the Jets were to announce something innovative like, "We're guaranteeing no more than a 2% increaswe per year for the first ten years) (which would probably help them sell a hell of a lot of PSLs), I'm not buying. Screw that and screw Woody.

not when you haven't seen your favorite team win in person EVER. but for those season ticket holders who purchase 8 regular season games a year and 2 meaning less throw away money games and pay $20 for parking 6 months in advance who hope that this is fianlly the year. the year we make a run.get a playoff home game get a playoff home victory or even just maybe see one of the greatest endings, Jets fans will always say "i was at that game".

so to answer your question,is it all worth it probably not. ha ha

but we really really hope it is this year.

Here's a general question about PSLs- What happens when they build another stadium in 15-20 years? Will the PSLs transfer or will the $25,00 you spent be a waste?

I was just thinking... how wild would it be if this turned out to be the year? We make the playoffs, then somehow go to the big one and win it!

I wonder how many guys in the uppers would call up the FO and tell them, "Okay that was really wonderful. Now take your freaking 43rd row uppers and shove them up your ass. I'm watching TV from now on."

I'm on the fence about the $5ks. Of course, I haven't been offered squat as I'm a waitlist person (though I'll likely get tickets in my name this year). But there's a chance I'd go for the $5ks since I bet I'll want to go the first year as excitement builds with the new stadium.

But the $10ks are too much for me, and certainly any seat with a $400+ ticket price is too much for me and, I'm guessing, all but the very rich (I keep thinking even someone pulling in $200k/year, a handsome wage, generally wouldn't spend $8-20k for 2-4 seats at $400-500/seat...every freaking year).

Those $400+ tickets have to go to either businesses not afraid of public outcry for how they're spending their money or perhaps to the super rich (like celebrities or something).

A total waste. The current price you're paying for the PSLs has nothing to do with any subsequent stadium (or renovations, alterations or improvements) to this stadium. You're paying for the right to purchase tickets in THIS stadium as it stands at completion of construction.

When this stadium is torn down your PSL goes down with it. This is what makes it such a diminishing, negative "return on investment." The more years you own it the less value it will have, since subsequent buyers will have no assurance of how long the PSL will be good for.

You literally have to be insane to think that any of this is an "investment." That's why it's absolutely unconscionable that the Jets have chosen to use that term in some of their offerings. It's the exact opposite of an investment.

    Lists

Wow. The Giants waiting list is TEN times the Jets? How on earth do the Jets expect to keep up with the Giants PSL-wise? No way. TEN times?

Anyone living in the this area knows that there's a much greater demand for Giants tickets as opposed to Jets tickets. I believe that part of the reason we as Jets fans are stuck with these ridiculous prices for the new stadium is that Woody figured he'd price everything according to the Giants demand, not his own team's demand and market.

These PSL and club prices are based on a 140,000 waiting list, not a 14,000 one.

Any bets the Jets manipulate the TV shots to minimize the empty voids? With the right camera angles and such, you might not ever notice the vast stretches of empty seating while sittin in front of the bigboy in the gameroom.

Or better yet, they could simply CG thousands of fans into those seats just like they CG ads onto homeplate backdrops.

It seems easier to just get a butt in the seat... they get $ for the seat and people buy stuff at the game...
