I was Ok with letting Geno have the first quarter of the season after the way he finished last year. Having said that, there's been a real regression and it's getting really ugly, fast. If Rex continues down the same path with Geno that he did with Sanchez he's not going to get the chance to groom another rookie QB for the Jets...
So I am playing the waiting game for tickets to the Dec.14th game in Nashville. The seats I had last time were $119.00 a piece, they are now down to $83.00 . I am counting on Locker and Geno to get those seats down $45.00 by December. Make lemonade when Rex gives you lemons.
AYFKM? The point was, if Idzik, had at least nominal foresight, we'd be able to go back to a playoff winning QB, in his second year in the offense....(and one..I might add, who should be in his 'reaching his potential' years, givebn how green he was when he came out. simply put...the organization had a number 5 overall pick invested in a player, and the new GM...never bothered to explore if the player was flawed, or if the player was hindered by the flawed offense he was asked to run...given that he was out performing Smith, until they got him hurt, like Sanchez or not, given that from a $$$$$ standpoint....it was a fucktarded movce. And Sanchez' preseason in philly makes that case more damning. Idzik prays that Foles doesn't get hurt.
If you read my post, I acknowledged that it wasn't a real QB competition. But regardless, he was outplayed by Smith. Are you saying Vick simply tried to suck on purpose or just didn't care in practice and preseason? Because if so, that's not a guy I want QBing my team anyway.
No, I'm saying that Geno won that "competition" because he was never gonna lose it. How was Vick supposed to win anything when he took every practice with the second team and rarely played in the preseason? Lol Vick could have played out of his mind and still would be where he is right now. If you honestly believe Vick had any chance in hell to come out of the preseason as number one, you're clueless.
Holy shit did you fail every reading comprehension exam in school? For the third time, I acknowledged it was a fixed "competition" that Vick had no shot of winning. Despite this, however, Geno outplayed Vick. It didn't matter if Vick could've won, because I agree with you, he couldn't have. But the fact of the matter remains, Geno outplayed Vick in camp and the preseason.
And for the third fuckin time, a guy can't "outplay" another guy if it's not an equal playing field. Are you fuckin retarded? If it's a fixed competition like you keep saying, how could Geno outplay Vick if Vick played with the second string players and rarely saw that field in preseason? Lmao If this was an equal competitition where both players saw equal playing time with equal talent, then one player can outplay the other. How the fuck, in your retarded brain, does Geno outplay Vick when Vick saw less than 20% playing time with the starters? Are you stupid?
Oh and btw, Vick just came off a season where he beat out Nick Foles in training camp getting equal shares of playing time. He lost the job because of an injury but had clearly beaten out Foles. So in your dumbass theory, Geno beat Vick out, so Geno would have beaten Foles out too. Even though Vick saw less than 20% of snaps with the first team offense, Geno still was able to beat him out, hence if put in a competition with Foles, he'd beat Foles out too. Lmao fuckin moron
If he didn't impress with 2nd stringers (against 2nd string competition mind you) what makes you think he'd be able to handle first string responsibilites? If I wasn't on my phone, I'd find a specific quote about how you don't think it's fair to say Geno needs more weapons, but instead he just needs to be a better QB. Yet with Vick, the reason why he was outperformed by Geno was because he had worse weapons than Geno? Surely then, if he was with the second stringers, he was able to tear up our weak ass 2nd string secondary that you love to criticize Idzik so much for, right? I mean our first string secondary is the worst ever assembled in the history of the NFL according to you, so our 2nd string must be barely CFL quality. Vick must've been able to take advantage of that, right? Oh, and Vick last year has nothing to do with Vick this year. First off, injuries take tolls on football players. Skills decline. Even if he wasn't injured last year, the fact of the matter is that he had a mediocre at best TC+preseason against backup competition. This year. You know, the year that matters? You could use your backward ass logic and straw-man arguments all you want, but this is pretty much a fact (if you want to consider a universal opinion a fact).
It all depends on supporting 2nd string cast as well. If the other team has more depth and the Jets 2nd team is completely atrocious, you may not get a complete evaluation. It would of been a much better evaluation to put him in the first unit but they never did. Rex had a laughable competition with Sanchez so what makes anyone trust Rexs decision that he sees in practice. Vick for all we know could impress in practice but Rex is as blind as they come with anything on the offensive side. Even with him being injury prone, Vick at this point is better then Geno so we mine as well just roll the dice and see if we catch lightning in a bottle. Geno keeps making the same damn mistakes and at some point, he has to be held accountable....
interesting on Mike and Mike this morning. Rex being sabotaged by Idzik. he is not allowed to change QB and sitting on 20 million I'm cap money. Next coach should have a good start.
