I'm having trouble deciding who won. Oh, and calling it the Seminole now that we have 0 offensive players from Florida State on the roster is fucking dumb.
It's called the wildcock formation and people really need to start using its proper name. As for what they said, I had the same thought at the time, that I didn't think they'd still call it the Seminole after Leon left.
Maybe we just give him naming rights and retain the spirit of the original name. It could be Art Flato's Semenhole. Brad Smith checks in, and the Jets are going to line up in Art Flato's Semenhole. The Jets have done a great job erupting from the Semenhole over the past few games.
Did anyone else notice that the Broncos mascot at the game looked eerily similiar to the Sanchez rainbow horse JCotchrocket is using?
I thought it was changed to Tiger or Wild Tiger after Leon got hurt and Brad Smith took over that formation cause he went to Missouri, and their mascot was the Tigers. It got me annoyed the first time against the Dolphins but after a few times yesterday I didn't even bother being critical of it.
this hark knocks flashback just came to mind... rex ryan to bob sutton: "take those 2 inside linebackers and blitz em every play. don't call it needle... call it dick." mike pettite on the radio: "rex you're so subtle!" we should just let rex name everything!
They very well might still call it that. Some coaching staffs will not change the name of a play even if the play was somehow named after a particular player and that player moves on to another team at some point. The 1985 Bears were famous for their 46 defense. The "46" came from Doug Plank's uniform number. He only played in one game after the 1981 season. Announcers do meet with the coaching staffs on Fridays. I think the topic of the Seminole plays would have come up. My best guess is that Seminole is still the term being used by the Jets.
We should all petition the Jets to re-name it the Bradcat and say that in all their press conferences. How bad ass would that be?
Roberts interviewed Cotch and the formation is still Seminole because one of the assistant coordinators who drew it up has roots from FSU. So it's still the Seminole and you dorks earlier in this thread can shut up now and let this thread die.
