Shockingly, yes, we do. The only thing that rivals the stupidity of this franchise is the stupidity of its fanbase. Jets fans are loyal but have among the lowest football IQ of any fanbase in the league. They also do this weird thing where they act like anyone critical of the team isn't a "true fan." But they're "true fans" for supporting all the moronic things this organization does. They blindly support and encourage mediocrity and wonder why nothing ever changes.
Today wasn't one of them, but there have been a few games this year where the defense has shut down elite QBs. That has to count for something.
I’m here front and center to admit I actually jumped on the “Zach looked good for one week” bandwagon. I must apologize to the long time suffering fans for even bothering to float out there might have been some “shark that was jumped.” Shame on me… This team, at least the offense, needs to be obliterated with only G. Wilson and Hall remaining. The coaching staff needs to be fired and hauled out on a rail. Other teams have injuries and somehow seem to overcome. Hell, Cleveland has Flacco off the street and winning…. Something the Jets couldn’t do. What a crock and a joke. Oh, one more thing…Rodgers is NOT winning a SB with this team! That thought can be flushed right now…
I am not sure about other teams but a friend of mine is a very long term Niners fan and he said that if you ever say anything even slightly critical of the team on fan forums then you get attacked (and this was even back when Kyle was doing things like destroying Trey Lance's career using him as running back)
If it wasn't for the darksiders, Jets wouldn't have any real fans and would be stuck with only the delusional sunshiners.
Well. I understand the pain, but - well. No need to beat the dead horse. Jets are a terrible team. Especially the offense. Jets offense haven't struck fear in the hearts of the opposing defense in - well. I don't even remember how long it's been.
This is the point of the season that the homers find something different to do. I think they have the right idea.
I might start looking for something different to do at the start of the season, starting from next season.
Well, my target fish are starting their offshore migration south so I'm stuck until April. At least the season lasted beyond Columbus Day for a change.
I'm 58 years old and I seriously do not remember any OL this bad. Am I wrong? Kotex years? No one can succeed.
I don't even know who we have playing on the right side week to week and Becton looked like Wayne F Hunter today. You have problems when Laken Tomlinson is your most consistent guy.
And this is what we have to look forward to in 2024…. Maybe the 6th or 7th lowest yards total in franchise history?
Siemian ended up with lost fumble and 2 picks, a lot of it in garbage time when Miami didn't go as hard. None of the QBs stood any chance today. This is not the game to shit on Zach, that's for sure. He took a beating in this game and got a concussion as a a result. The OLine deprived any QB of a chance to succeed. This one is not on the QBs. Remember when folks questioned our fandom when we didn't take the company line to loudly praise every move JD made this offseason? Particularly when it came to the OLine. JD playing chess while others playing checkers line looks particularly foolish now. Remarkable how vehemently people rejected and crucified any criticism of JD of the fellow fans in spite of horrendous on the field record.
I think it's just years of being beat down. You start to look at anything as better than what you have. A lot of fans actually aim for mediocrity, they strive for it. Permeates through everything they say and do, like this 269-year-old guy who hasn't been good in six years was cut by the worst team in the league, let's kick the tires because we need the position he plays! Everything is "at least": - at least he's better than (insert our scrub) - at least we kept it close with (insert good team) Moral victories become acceptable. "Better than what we have" becomes the goal. It's no longer about being GOOD, just "better than what we've been" as if that's a base to strive for. I refuse. The poster formerly known as broomulack - was time for a change.
It's not only Homers, I'd say it's a good majority of fans, who followed the Jets PR machine (& the Media), & falsely imagined that it was QB play that prevented the team from greatness, last season. All the other problems from last season, other than maybe the OL, totally ignored (by PR, the Media, & fans). That was the reason I was against the AR acquisition. Everything & every player associated with the AR trade has blown up, along with his Achilles. And the team will be paying for it, if only with the retention of Saleh & Company, when they fully deserve to be jettisoned. Saleh, he's a good DC, but other than being the PR face for the organization, he is not a good HC. No real football smarts/instincts, no creativity to adjust/learn from mistakes, & too stubborn to make adjustments, when his scheme isn't working (ie: Waddle today)... etc. JD will probably become a really good GM, but it won't be with this team. Aside from his initial hire (Saleh) being a bad choice, his decision to put everything on-hold, in order to acquire AR (& thereby blow-up his rebuilding plan) has been fatal. Lastly, whoever is HC next season, they have to stop moving AVT to Tackle. He's a very good Guard that seems to stay healthy at that position. .
Now you know damn good and well this moronic team is going to trot out Saleh next year, right? Trust me, he isn't doing anything with AVT. They'll keep screwing him up.
