It's not just the media, so many people on this board were absolutely killing Sanchez a month and a half ago. It was unreal, this guy doesn't have it, he doesn't get it, he's not progressing or learning, He can't read defenses blah, blah, blah. And if I say so myself, I said all along that the guy is a rookie and you have to give him time. Don't see those same people on here admitting that they were wrong, or at least admitting they shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Any rational football fan, who knows what he's talking about, would know that it's completely normal for a rookie quarterback to hit many rough spots. I personally think that at the end of year 3 and into year 4 you will be able to have a good grasp of what kind of quarterback he is gonna be.

That sums it up, sometimes you can see someone like Kobe with 5/20 shooting and 18 points, but what the stats don't show is that he hit a game winner and 10 points in the last 3 minutes.

He is clutch, and makes plays when he has too, I'd much rather have that then a fantasy/regular season QB like Rivers and Manning has mostly been.

Sanchez is doing a good job "for a rookie."

BUT he is the weak link in this team. Top rated defense, top rated running game, but QB near bottom in QB rating. The kid threw for 100 yards, nothing to write home about.

But in this very limited role they have for him he's doing a great job. I'm thrilled and very happy with him.

But I still think this team is ready to win now and needs at least a middle of the pack QB. Maybe in a couple of years Sanchez may be a good or great QB but he's certainly not that now. He just needs a couple of years (like almost all QB's).

He hasn't been the weak link in the past two games. He's managed the shit out of the games. This team follows the 2000 Ravens formula.

    This is an outdated argument.

You tell me, what's our weakest position?

RB, CB, LB, DL, OL, Special Teams, or QB?

You can make an argument for Special Teams but still QB wouldn't be far behind.

The Jets are basically relying HEAVILY on their defense and running game to win games. We're just asking Sanchez not to lose games. He's doing a great job doing what he's being asked to do.

QB may currently be our weakest position, but that is not because he sucks but because we have a very talented roster.

Plus in terms of potential, QB is near the top.
