There was a play where Herndon made a catch and run and then was tackled HARD! I wonder if that's when he broke the rib.
I love the way the guy plays (Herndon), but he can't stay on the field. Time to move on ? Winters....maybe the line will actually get better...........
He played all 16 games as a rookie. I don't know that he is or isn't an injury liability yet. He could be trending that way, or this could be a freak season for injuries for him. I am worried about him basically missing an entire year of football action though. He'll only have a month or so of true football activity in two years by the time he returns next season. I don't think we need to go get a tight end if we retain Griffin. But a mid round tightend wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Two tight end two receiver and a deep back with two guys who can catch the rock is a formula that can work for someone like Sam.
He was awesome with Hurricanes and he's been impressive on an NFL level for our Jets but unfortunately he hasn't stayed on the field, consistently. Could be worse has broken ribs but thankfully not an ACL or knee injury that can ruin your career I'm hoping because he's still just a kid a young man that he focuses on doing right in life off the field and returns from injury a playmaker.
One thing for sure, if all these injuries are legit, I sure hope we are looking for a new training staff this off season.
Comment was not meant to reflect on Herndon's injury specifically, just the overall state of injuries on this team this year. This level of injuries is not normal.
