Talk about a overblown rediculous story.......Pissed off he's not feeling 100% in OTA's so he throws a tantrum....big f&^%$#$ deal.....If he does it in the regular season everyone can talk! Until then this is a waste of a thread.

Why do darksiders embrace stuff like this? It's like they only care about being right and hope the Jets lose just to stroke their internet ego. Typical non story about the Jets.

you ever think that maybe he threw his helmet to the ground when he tweaked his hamstring.

is the guy allowed to be upset for setting himself back or not being as far along as he wants to because the guy is a competitor?

I love people saying trade him.

yes lets trade our best WR and rely on a rookie and Kerley, who I love but itsnt good enough to start beyond slot receiver effectively

Holmes is such a cancer, doing volunteer work in Africa and supporting our troops overseas.

    what a classless bum.

you people need to get over yourselves and your so called analysis.

    Excellent point coach.

Perhaps we could give him oh, I don't know, let's say a week before we decide his fate?

Nice binary equation you set up there. I mean, someone who is indeed a cancer couldn't possibly do volunteer work or support the troops overseas, could they ?

Given what is known about his history, what do you think is more likely ?

That he was frustrated at HIMSELF and threw his helmet down >? That he then went over and talked with the coaches about possibly limiting his reps and letting him ease into things ?

Or, that he got pissed/frustrated at the coaches for overworking him, slammed his helmet down and had some words with the coaching staff ?

Heck, let's look at Holmes' own words:

Again, given what you know about Holmes, how do you think this went?

Scenario 1: "Hey Coach, I'm spent, need to rest and let others take some reps instead", or,

Scenario 2: "Dammit, why do you have me running all these (*&$(#* reps ? I'm not 100% cause of my trip. I'm not doing anymore" ?

You realize it's been nearly 3 years since the Bills won a game vs. the Jets, right? That's including a game vs. our JV squad.

Steelers took that pick from the jets and turned it into Bryant McFadden and Antonio brown. Now what team would you rather be

Sure, he could have thrown his helmet after he tweaked his hamstring. Sure, he could have removed himself from practice like a professional.

It is a problem for me, because the last time we saw Holmes in Green and White, I was at my most embarrassed as a Jet fan.

If a player quits on my team, he doesn't get the benefit of a doubt from me until he does something to prove that it isn't all about him.

This little incident, which I will agree is overblown in the media, is still a point of concern.

Could you imagine this kind of behavior from Jeter/Curtis Martin/Gary Carter?

I don't think you'll find anyone to argue that the Jets are a better organization than the Steelers. Obviously the Steelers are among the few elite franchises in NFL history.

I also think that we've got some pretty clutch moments out of Holmes and that he's helped our team. We probably overpaid him and overvalue him as a #1 WR (I prefer to think he's a great #2 than a #1), but that doesn't mean we didn't get good value for a 5th round pick.

Its a long year were only in OTA's you all should keep your hormone's in check :).

/Not even in Training Camp yet

  14. I can't believe there are 4 pages of crap looking at this. It couldn't be more irrelevant. 10 years ago before the media started covering OTA's no one would have even known about this.

Why are so many of you insistent upon creating issues that don't need to be there?

So Holmes is out of shape....big deal. These are voluntary workouts. If he's outta shape come mini-camp...then I'll be worried.

Oh so you're interpreting "Bills Over Jets" as meaning "in a 3 year vacuum?"

I haven't read all 4 pages, but I think the issue is Holmes' reaction and not the fact that he is out of shape. If people are complaining because he is out of shape, then I'd tend to agree with you. However, I think its more of Holmes being Holmes.

  18. Ok...so he's a diva. So are a good portion of WR's in this league. Not every team is gona have a bunch of choir boys.

How does Holmes tossing his helmet in frustration in voluntary minicamp in anyway adversely affect the Jets roster/on field production/locker room/etc?

Hes out of shape; period. Is he class-less...most likley. Is he a great reciver; yes, when motivated. What motivates him, money and weed. The jets need to have stacks of $ and blunts; fuck gatorade
