There are two teams in the NFL with better records than us. There were three last week, but we beat the third team, on the road, for the first time ever. That's not SOJ. If it was we'd be a much, much happier fan base.
In '68 11-3 and won the SB. '69 10-4. '85 11-5, 98 12-4. We are 10-4 w/2 games to play and the chance to go 12-4. This is not the SOJ.
Honestly, I had no confidence we could win at PIT, and I had it so bad, I couldn't even enjoy the win. Let me tell you just how bad that sucked. I mean I took the Jets in my $$$ pik'em pool, I had to, but I am trying to talk myself up for ther CHI game. What was that? "Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all'? It's like that for me as a fan. I take big losses very hard. I'm in a bad mood for days. Going into PIT I wussed, I was curled up in the fetal position. I was waiting for the dagger to strike again. How did Ceasar feel after the first ten stab wounds? I've made up my mind to go into the Chicago game with a different mindset. The mindset that will make me an ornery 'ol bassad for days if we lose. I've found no matter how much it hurts, that is better than not being able to enjoy a win. This was, I can honestly say, the first time I ever wilted into SOJ land, at least to these depths. It's a shitty place to be.
Idk what it is with guys like you and t-bird, you seem to take a Jets loss the way that I would take some awful news that actually mattered in my life. I love the Jets and live and die with every play for 3 hours every week. Within an hour after the game, win or lose, my mood is no longer affected by what the Jets did. I don't need to tell you guys how to be fans but I think a little perspective could be in order for those of you who are scared to hope that your team might win.
