Rivers is underrated. We will get a first hand look at how accurate he is on sunday. McCoy was a great coach for him as well.

I guess trading up would not be an option, since we need to continue to add to our great depth.

Regardless how much Vick turns the ball over no way he turns it over 7 times in 4 games......Geno is on pace for 28 on the season that is fuking ridiculous

Anything is possible.... it seems to be lining up that the worst teams in the league are all teams that will select a QB in the 1st round so I'm not sure who the Jets could trade up with and jump ahead of those teams in need of a QB.

Its too early to speculate on draft slots, my point is people seem to be suggesting that if Geno sucks the rest of the year then our QB of the future will be picked in the upcoming draft when I don't think they should be comforted in that fact.

I really cannot stand the idea of tanking the season for a higher draft pick. Aside from not having confidence in the FO using a high pick to great effect, there are a number of other problems.

First of all it's not just about Smith. We need to see if several other younger players can develop. For example is it not possible that Amaro, Salas and even Kerley might learn more in developing with Vick behind center than watching Smith screw up games one after another? And let's hold Winters accountable if he screws up, and not say who cares about the OL since the Qb sucks anyway. Even installing the WCO would go better for everyone else if a better Qb was playing.

I also am not a fan of the idea that a winning attitude is something that can be turned off and on. In real life there are problems with that. For better or worse a significant percentage of the current roster will be back next year. Do we really want it to consist of players who were okay with letting it slide this year?

It is also not written in stone that Vick is here for only one year. If he plays, shows he's still got it, avoids injury, and the FO fills a couple of holes elsewhere, like Cb and another wideout, the Jets could be a competitive playoff team in 15 with Vick as Qb.

What do you not understand? meaningful, as in playoff contention. Yes players are playing for their jobs but Genos job was safe all last season and in the games that mattered he never played consecutive games good.

What are you talking about? do you realize there isnt nearly as much pressure once when your season is over? or is that concept to difficult for you to comprehend?

You people that bought into the final 3 games were fools, absolute fools. Everyone claiming how he improved at the end, yeah he surely improved right? Right flatjetfan? Geno is very much improved huh?

I guess ill continue to wait because these improvements are coming right? I mean he showed that he can play at a high level in games in which the Jets were out of the playoffs, against teams like Oakland and Cleveland who were also out of the playoffs..... (Miami wasnt but the Jets still were though so.)

And to think Rivers was on the trade block, and those who suggested it on this board got killed because Rivers was apparently "done" and "washed up"..... I wish we would have made a push for him after the 2012 season. If a team had thrown picks at him, they would have given him up. (but then again the Jets would have found away to ruin him here anyway so.....)

Let's say you're toilet plugs up and your bathroom fills with shit. You have an old plunger but aren't sure if it works any more. So you buy a new one and it breaks. You go out to the garage and get the old one.

If we do draft a QB next year you can count Buffalo and Oakland out. This season lives or dies by Geno's development IMO.

2-2 Buffalo announced today that they are changing QBs. Why can't the 1-3 jets?

The reason you play Vick is that Geno is not performing. Next man up. The mantra of competition....perform or the next guy gets a shot....

Vick proved he can play and win. hes not perfect but f he was, he would not be on the Jets. He may or may not fail, but without a crystal ball, how do you know?
