Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh NEEDS to get this to make the world right again....lol, actually I don't think a Defensive player has won since Warren Sapp
Warren Sapp didn't win the Heisman. Charles Woodson was the last defensive player to win it. (I'm pretty sure Sapp was the first defensive lineman and the last since Suh to be a Heisman finalist though)
I stand corrected sir...thanks, I coulda' sworn it was Sapp, but I guess it was the nomination that stood out:shit:
You still respect this award? Any respect I had for it went out the window the night Eric Crouch won. Although if Toby or Suh won I think it would bring some respect back.
I feel the same way about the Crouch win...David Carr and Antwaan Randel-El were disrespected that year. Jason White winning the Heisman made me hate the voters. I really think it's between Ingram and Suh.
That was a terrible decision by those voters that year... I'm just glad that this award isn't in the bag this year (as far as I can tell). I have my preference, but I wouldn't be upset if Ingram/TG/or Suh won it. Now if Colt or Tebow win it though....
There was no way White deserved it over Fitzgerald. He was the most dynamic player in college football that year. How many consecutive games did he have a TD reception? It was astronomical considering Pitt was no powerhouse during his years. Your right though, that was pretty disgusting as well. A case have been made that DMC deserved it over Tebow as well but at least Tebow had an amazing year that year although I think last year was better for him.
Woodson's return ability really pushed him over the top to win the Heisman. I doubt he would have won it on defense alone, although he was an awesome player in college. IMO, McCoy and Ingram are the favorites,,,but it's really close this year. I want Suh to win it, it's doubtful it will happen.
The fact that he was able to do what he did with Rod Rutherford throwing him the ball should have been enough to put him over the top in the votes. I guess being an underclassman and a Big East player was just too much to overcome the voters.
Got this third hand from the announcers during the Army/Navy game but according to Gino Torretta the voting was tied with 40 mins left. This year is going to be very close. My guess would be that it is going to come down between Suh and Ingram.
This is the first time I am watching more than the final 10 minutes of the show, this is a horribly produced show just awful so much meaningless garbage, why dont they incorperate the other awards into the heisman presentation And Toby Gerhart looks like he is going to puke
