We got an interview with Mora? I thought he told everyone he was happy at UCLA. There's another coach I really like. All of a sudden the list is looking much better.
So after 30 pages here, what I have gathered is whoever we hire some people are going to bash the hire.
That happens everywhere. Everyone wants a certain guy and there can only be 1. Seems like the only chance of a fan disaster is if we hire Marrone. I'd be fine with any of the other guys and like most others would only complain if we brought him and maybe Cable too.
If Mora decides to interview. He easily jumps to the top of the list as the MOST qualified candidate. (HC experience, More years DC experience than the top hot 3 coordinators who have 1,2 and 3 years experience, playoff experience. I know 66% of the fan base will bitch and moan, yet he has accomplished as much as their beloved Rex in the NFL (31-33, Division Title and an NFC Champ game) plus more recently having success as a HC Rex has never seen, 3 seasons at UCLA (29-11) But most of this franchise wont be happy with anyone.
???????? If you are referring to his tenure with UCLA nothing could be further from the truth. What are you basing your assessment on.
Agree. Making a coach and GM selection based on fan sentiment would be as insightful and productive as adding Metha and Cimini to Woody's dream team
In-game adjustments and in-season adjustments. The Pats are always better after the first quarter of the schedule has passed.
Tom Brady always helps as did getting a healthy Gronk this year. I don't recall his great adjustments as a HC w/o Brady. I think the best thing BB does is instill that one game at a time mentality and his teams don't get too high after a win or too low after a loss.
I'll take a pass on Jim Mora. I'd like it if we brought Kubiak and Pep Hamilton in for interviews once their teams are eliminate. Quinn and Bowles are strong candidates too.
Really?? Ended the season ranked #14 (highest ranking during season #11) A 4-1 record against ranked teams - with the only loss to a ranked team being Oregon, Disappointing loss to Stanford okay, biggest disappointment in college football (Auburn, Gamecocks, Stanford, LSU -- too name a few)
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora · 2m2 minutes ago Jets still have more candidates to speak to, but I hear Doug Marrone's interview with them did not go well. Dan Quinn well positioned now.
Be prepared to possibly wait until after the Super Bowl to hire a head coach. The Jets seem to be very interested in Quinn and if no other coach blows them away, they will wait until Seattle's season is over.
With Quinn seeming to take the lead in the HC search, its safe to say he will either keep thurman or bring one of his own guys from seattle. but as far as OC is concerned, who do we think is a possibility to fill the role?
It was reported that Quinn doesn't want to work with Kirchner. Claims he does not have a good eye for football talent. That is paraphrasing of course.
