    Yup, good analogy--Tyler Durden.

Does a real person just flip you a truck? When he's done using it?

Lets see if the Chief does go and meet him.

Haha yeah giving him (or anyone) a truck is very odd. But then again, how does the chief of police in a small town conceal that truck for any length of time? I suppose it's possible. But I'm leaning towards the guy being real.

I figure the writers just want us to be uncertain and not fully sure if he's real. Probably another effect to represent the experience of him questioning his sanity. Whether or not the guy is real might be less significant than something else that's occurring, which is the state of confusion and dread of possibly losing one's sanity.

^^Basically, if we find out the bald guy isn't real, then we know Kevin is insane. And if we find out the bald guy is real, then we're less inclined to think that Kevin is insane.

So, in between is where the interesting part resides.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking he's not insane, but his genes appear to be a bit tainted.

Yup. And so, all of these little factors are cases for both sides (insane v sane). For now, the audience doesn't know which mimics Kevin's state as he doesn't know.

Because the father is clinically insane, the possibility of genetics looms and that keeps us thinking that Kevin could also be insane. Again, we're not gonna know that yet.

I'm wondering if Kevin's father's story is one of those 'he knows something that everyone else doesn't but he gets misdiagnosed as crazy' kinda stories. And what's the deal with the mayor's involvement with him? Is it romantic? I thought I remember them kissing goodbye on the mouth.

I said that to the GF, that kiss was a bit too intimate.

I too thought he might have been misdiagnosed--right up until he started yelling at the dude....that wasn't sitting next to him.

    Not a particularly exciting 4th episode. Wasn't weak--just wasn't a great follow-up to a strong 3rd episode.

    Will comment fully later.

Just caught up now and still not really sure what the hell is going on. This is one of the few shows I've watched where I don't really like any of the characters. The most likeable characters are those weirdo twin brothers that are kind of pussies. Jill could be the poster-child for a combination of bi-polar, teenage angst and generally being a twat. If there is a second mass vanishing I hope she's on the list. The chief isn't so bad, I guess, I mean you do feel kind of bad for him if nothing else but I'm not even a big fan of him.

I'll keep watching the show for the time being but at this point it's more for the mystery than anything else, unless that changes I'm not sure how long it will keep my interest.

Yep, I'm done. This show is terrible. I went ahead and read the synopsis of the book, I won't give any spoilers but I don't feel any regrets about tapping out.

    I'm still intrigued.

Very depressing, can't see anyway out for anyone. Nothing's going to get resolved in any satisfying way, but I still can't look away.

Love the acting and the writing. A pretty difficult watch.

We are about to end watching this show...Even the stupid "Weeks ahead" trailer tries to hype up scenes that dont look exciting at all.

So many characters I cannot stand watching.

Haha one of my friends in my small group of friends who watch it has also tapped out, or he's on the verge.

I'm still intrigued though, and I like stories that focus on the psychological layers of the characters; so it's enough to carry the show for now.

I'm sticking with it. Love the character development. The despair.
