Justin Theroux was phenomenal in that episode. I reckon that wasn't the easiest role to play, with all of the sadness -- and he managed to do it without coming across as hokey. What I thought would happen did indeed happen. I hate the GR for doing that, but who knows, maybe it winds up helping some people unexpectedly. Either way, I felt so bad for Nora in her kitchen.
Especially the Patti Levin scene at the mental institution *shivers* Still questions left to be answered, even though I believe they covered up the majority of the issues.
Haha I have a loose theory that Patti, in a way, represents Laurie -- dating back to three episodes ago when all that shit went down in Cairo. And I agree, I thought a bunch of stuff got somewhat resolved. There's obviously a bit of a cliffhanger, but I thought the season concluded solidly.
Good point never thought about that in regards to Laurie. I think there are still some things that need to be talked about and built on. Especially Wayne, was he a fraud or was he truly a "God" I really hope they go into some detail in regards to that.
Well, what did he wish for with the black guy? A baby? Happiness for Nora? what? That was a great finale...Alot happening in it. Looking forward to what happens next year although the show needs to bring in the SUPERNATURAL!
I'd say he wished for his family to be together again. And then, as circumstance would have it, he had a shot at some redemption and a chance to fulfill his own wish by saving Jill. Speaking of that, when he re runs into the burning house, while that song "November" from the score is playing -- that was breathtaking. And, also, Tommy found Laurie. They walked hand-in-hand the same way Kevin and Jill did. I think we can assume they'll all meet at the house. At least, that's what I'm hoping.
Another great episode. Not quite last weeks but a couple of sledgehammers and it really has me hoping for more next season. My favorite line was when Kevin shows up at the riot, says gimme a gun, pulls on his bullet proof vest and starts marching into the riot and he sees a figure and he stops and looks and it's the Mayor. Not the confident bitchy cocky sure of herself Mayor, the confused helpless almost childlike Mayor and she says "You were right, Kevin, you were right all along". Great sequence. _
Kind of bummed Wayne is dead. As creepy and as awful a character as he is, it was interesting trying to figure out what his deal was. I feel we've been a little robbed of something. _
Im sure we will get a character alot like his next season. He was a character that sucked in pain or something. Maybe we get a character that gives joy
I'm hoping we get some flashbacks next season that sheds some light. As whacky as the whole concept of the story is, his story made even less sense. Who was he? What was he? How does he tie into the Event. I kind of get the GRs, but Wayne? _

But did that look on his face as he expired signal he wasn't a fraud? I have to think there was more to Wayne then just banging cute asian chicks and selling snake oil. Well, at least I hope so, for his soul. _
I don't have to think that. He was basically outed by having multiple pregnant Asian teenage girlfriends wandering around the country. And we saw with Nora that his gimmick didn't actually work. There's no supernatural shit going on. Just a bunch of depressed motherfuckers.
