Shifty, fast makes people miss, good qualities for a slot receiver and PR/KR

Leon rolling over in his grave over lack of Hess truck sales, maybe cause they're $34

Yeah the Pats have done this for years. Get a quick small shifty guy to "come out of nowhere" after teams get too focused on Gronk and Edelman. I could see how Dortch could carve out a role on this offense.

Dink and dunk is only dreadful when you don't have playmakers. This kid could be a matchup nightmare for a LB on a wheel route. If we don't keep him the Pats will probably pick him up and you'll hear his name every week.

Why pay a 31 year old KR/PR man who has never even come close to the season he had last year? I think most of his production stems from good special team schemes and coaching. We'll how we do with a new return man, I don't except a massive drop off.

I don't think last year was a one off for Roberts but we'll never know since all the important components of last year's unit are mostly gone except for Boyer. Being on a different team in a different system and Roberts might not be as dynamic.
I expect a drop off as new guys will have to learn Boyer's system. I don't see us getting a kicker with Meyer's leg strength so the other team should have better starting FP too. Even Westhoff's ST's dropped off as the talent also dropped off.

I like him as an undrafted prospect because he's small, quick, can line up in the slot and KR/PR etc but as an FSU fan since #28 Warrick Dunn days I'd say it's insane to compare him to Leon Washington who was an FSU great RB. I feel this kid has a chance to compete for Cannon's spot at KR/PR but I'd be shocked if he stands out on offense anytime soon; his tape just doesn't POP to me like Leon's did with FSU.

John Battle is the sleeper pick I really like. 3 year SEC starter while with LSU. A vocal leader. Started to flash with ball hawking and not scared to go head up and tackle hard. Played alongside of Jamal Adams. If Marcus Maye doesn't prove to stay healthy I wouldn't be surprised to see Adams/Battle at SS/FS together.

I always wonder what somebody has typed and then regretted it 2 minutes later and then finds that you can't actually delete a post properly :)

I agree, he looks great. If he was 2 or 3" taller he would've been a 2nd round pick or something instead of undrafted

My favorite thing I read about Dortch is that he punctured his small intestine in a game against Louisville by landing on a pylon on a touchdown catch. He still went on to score 2 more touchdowns in the game!

No, I played hockey. I’m not saying the kid is absolutely gonna get injured or that he won’t succeed, I’m saying there’s a reason they separate fighters by weight class.

I read that today also. I think he had 2 more touchdowns after that injury and went for emergency surgery after the game. Kid is determined and tuff as nails

I agree we will likely lose some of our best ST players from last year. Tomlinson, Peake and Cannon were arguably our best ST players and none may make the roster. Tomlinson was ranked as our best blocker in the return game. Cannon really came on as our best gunner. But we are adding Bellamy and Cashman. The Jets rated Cashman as the best ST player in the draft this year and if healthy he should make a big impact.

Maybe more importantly, the philosophy the Jets used last year of using the bottom of the roster for core st players rather than marginal positional players appears to be still be in force as it paid such high dividends last year.
