I would say that 3 weeks ago, they were headed in the wrong direction. I think that is evident by the collapse at the end of the season. As of today though, they are righting the ship - a statement I don't expect you to agree with.
I'd modify it... they are trying to right the ship. But once the turd has hit the water, it's difficult to put it back in the stinkhole. So far, I see no evidence that anything has been righted. I don't Rex not saying the word "guarantee" and hiring Sparano, the man who led the Phins to the glory years (snark), is your ticket to the SB. But we'll see.
Why is it that Sanchez couldnt pick up Shotty's offense? Does he have a learning disability? Did the jets really hire Tony to dumb down the offense so he can understand plays? This is going to be fun to watch.
Did you watch games? It appeared as though OTHER players had trouble picking up plays, not Sanchez. Players running the wrong route, backs not aware of which way to receive the handoff...
Rex has acknowledged Sanchez's inability to pick up Schotty's offense. The lack of offense was a result of a multitude of things, but to absolve Sanchez of any fault for the offense's inability to succeed is extreme Jets homerism. And to answer the OP, No...Sanchez has never taken over a game. He is incapable and is just not that good.
I think it will all work out for the best. I see Tony bringing in Chad Henne who will beat out Sanzhez anyway. Plus Henne will already have Tony's offense down...Sanchez will be on another learing curve.
You might want to wait until your team does something before coming here talking this shit. The HC you hired is a complete unknown and your basing your hope on a qb that is just as unknown. The Jets are just a few small pieces from being back in,the Dolphins are not
Are you closer or further away than you were on the morning of the AFC championship game two years ago? Are you closer or further away than you were on the morning of the AFC championship game one year ago? Are you closer or further away than you were at the beginning of this last season? I just don't think you're as close as you think you are.
Only got through 1st 4 pages of this thread, but here's my comments: 1- i wish some of the 'vets' that are ragging on Sanchez would look back to THEIR entry into the league. Hell, some of them probably didn't even get their first tackle till year 4. 2- Sanchez has given ALL OF US numerous moments of sheer glee, from getting us into 2 straight AFC Championship Games, including coming back from a 45-3 thrashing to beat Tom Brady and the Patriots IN NEW ENGLAND. How quickly we forget. 3- i truely believe that Mark could play lights out, win 3 straight super bowls, then have an 'average' year and ppl on TGG would find creative ways to paint Mark as a huge bust.
Actually,a piece or 2 added to the Oline and a pass rusher and were just as close. There will be a different mentality going into next season. Regardless, were a hell of a lot closer than your team so...
Hate to give Cimini credit, but in one of his recent articles, he had what I thought was an interesting point. The Jets are admitting that they are bringing in Sparano to focus on run first, as well as simplify the offense. Doesn't that mean the Jets are only asking for Sanchez to be a game manager at this point then? If so, why draft a QB as high as they did to be a game manager in his 4th year? I'm really questioning the Jets confidence in Mark.
So you need three pieces and a new mentality to get to where you were ...and where you were wasn't good enough to win the division, the league, or the SB. But yeah, you're very very close. :rofl2:
Yes,the jets have been there twice, and had a bad year this year. I have the faith that the powers that be here can make the adjustments since we are not far off. What are you over here worrying about whats going on here?Do you not realize the mess that exists in Miami? WHy don't you go focus on why your team doesn't have enough fans to avoid blackouts
Here's the thing, though : Maybe they thought they could mold Mark into an Elite QB? Or maybe they wanted to get Mark because they knew he'd be the perfect Game-Manager for them? Someone who can do the Playaction-fakes and Passes(that we know he can do very well) and manage the game. Who knows at this point?
Mark Exceeds in the play action, and scrambling which really helps if you have a good run game..I think if anything it's playing to his strengths
Yeah, who knows. I'm sure they drafted him thinking he'd become elite. They may now be resigned to him becoming a solid game manager. Hey, if they run the hell out of the ball, sure up the O-line and get a downfield threat, I think he will be more than effective.
Go troll somewhere else. How is it a team that has been as bad as yours for the last 3 years is talking shit. You should know better then anyone how hard it is to win the division with the Patriots putting up 13+ wins a year.
