I just looked at Tom Brady's career 400 yards games and none of them quite measure up to your criteria. Man, you don't even think Tom Brady is elite? Tough critic. Sept 22 2002, 39/54 410yds 4tds 1int Sept 12 2011, 32/48 517yds 4tds 1int Sept 18 2011, 31/40 423yds 3tds 0int
i see your taking a bit of a beating so i will chime in on your behalf. thank you for the input. i happen to agree with it which helps to get me to stick up for you... with that said i thought your responses were good and not at all bills centralized, i would say that you got called out as a bills poster for no reason. so yeah thanks for being a good opposing team poster, at least in this thread... i dont really remember anything else you might have posted.
so you have to throw for 400-500 yards to have an elite performance? Sanchez has had elite games - Texans last season, Patriots twice last season, Bears (even though we lost - Sanchez on the road against the Bears put on quite the performance) just examples - it's all about making plays and not turning the ball over at an alarming rate - that to me is an elite performance
Anyone can have an "elite" performance but what separates good QBs from bad ones is consistency. The Jets offense was horrendous the entire year and didn't move the ball at all aside from isolated drives and garbage time. That being said its hard to make a case for Sanchez being anything other than awful this season. If it wasn't for the miraculous red zone improvement over last year the Jets offense would've been historically bad.
that subject was all over this board last year and anyone that didn't agree was villified for not being a homer over sanchez! this year, reallity has sunk in and there will be no more talk about sanchez ever being elite again.
How many touchdowns in a game has Sanchez thrown? Here's GB backup: Matt Flynn: 2 career starts. Most TDs thrown in a game: 6.
Okay what does that prove? Josh Freeman has done that too and we see how good he has played this year. Aaron Rodgers didn't throw for 6 tds this year in 16 games, is Matt Flynn better since he did it in one?? Great argument and insight.
Have you SEEN the Packers offense? Have you seen their weapons? Jennings, Nelson, Driver, Finley, Jones...they throw 80% of the time because that is the strength of their weapons. Completely different offenses.
How has GB's starter done? What about a multiple Super Bowl winner like Ben Roethlisberger or Eli Manning? What are their records. Sanchez has thrown 4 in a game, which stacks up fine.
Great point, because no QB has ever struggled in their 3rd year and then come back to play at an elite level.
The "elite performance" thing came up in a conversation I was having with a Jet fan friend this past week. We got onto the subject of who I wanted to see get the coaching job for Miami and I said I wanted Philbin because he brought with him the opportunity to get the inside track on bringing in Matt Flynn. That led to a debate over getting Flynn vs. trading up to get RG3. He said something about Flynn being unproven because he only played one game. I asked him if he could name a game Sanchez has played where he was better than Flynn in that one game. For some reason I don't understand, he gave me the finger ...hehe.
Dude....He's a Dolphin fan. Work it out. I mean it's not like Flynn was the beneficiary of having Good Coaching and Great Weapons at his disposal or something.... Oh no. Of course it isn't. Put Brian Schottenheimer in as the OC of the Packers and you'll see just how un-explosive the offense(and Flynn) can be.
LoL .... wonderful find Abyz. Perhaps the Pats fan can explain how Brady has never had an Elite game by his on criteria?
Good stuff (see above) and I agree 100%. Phil Simms said he could correct the fumbling problem in 10 minutes and get it cut down by 50%.
