That wasn't the question posed, it was has Sanchez ever play a great game. Very few teams have QB's that are nearly flawless every week. The teams that do have all won SB's the last few years. Throw Brees, Brady, Manning or Rogers, Big Ben on the 27 other teams that don't have those guys and it's probably those teams winning championships. My expectations are much higher but not all of the faults in this O can be blamed on Sanchez.
Not gonna lie watching that comeback of Houston after the pass that he made to LT to get us to the 50 and they ran the hurryup, totally made me think of nothing more than that fucking retarded fake spike and pass to DK this year that did nothing but waste time and a timeout
so, now all we need is a general manager that actually is qualified to evaluate talent to run the draft/ free agency.
Sanchez never threw more than 400 yards nor did he throw 5 TD passes in a single game, though he sure threw 5 picks in a game. He is a fucking bust.
Has any qb ever done either with Schitty as their OC EVER (hmm ok Brett had 6 tds vs Zona with Schitty, but he only had 289 passing yards so im not sure if that should count)
I would agree with the games you mentioned. He also had very good games against Buffalo away and Oakland this year. The week 2 New England game in 2010 was his best regular season game. He also played very well in 2010 in the loss in Chicago 24/37 64% 269 yds 1 TD 1 INT in a tough place to play. I would also add the Championship game last year 22/30 60% 233 yds 2 TD 0 INT 102 QBR against a very good Pittsburgh defense.
Hard to add the Oakland game to the highlight reel, he was getting murdered out there, and we lost. Dont remember the game very well but id have to imagine alot of his productivity came in garbage time
Guys, the game against Houston, that was against a historically bad pass defense. Not sure how to look at that, the fact that he brought us back or the fact that he didn't put us up to begin with... The game against the Pats in 2010 was very good, IMO, his best. Outside of that, he has been playing with the "Don't screw up" mentality. Lets see if he sheds that with a new OC this year. I sure hope he does.
We were up in that game for most of the first half, maybe even the 3rd Q if I remember right then MCFadden busted a run and we had a muffed punt and things changed. We were never so far behind that Oakland was in a prevent defense. He was 27/44 61% 369 yard 2TD 1 INT
Pretty big changes. Signed Johnathan Joseph and Danieal Manning and hit homers in the draft with JJ Watt and Brooks Reed. They also brought in Wade Phillips to caoach the D, which was huge as Wade is a great coordinator. And then they get Mario Williams back next year (if they re-sign him), who didn't play after week 5 this year. Things change quickly in this league, but Houston could be set for a long time.
Do you know how many QB's taken Top 5 and Top 10 last 12 years have been TOTAL busts ????? I think Sanchez is about what we've expected so far, maybe a bit less. But total failure ? Big disappointment ? Puh-leeze.....
People are focusing on Houston's defense and that it's different now, that's not really the point. Point is we had :49, no timeouts, FG not an option, whole stadium was deflated after we gave up the lead. Situational football. Some QBs can't function and execute in that spot against anyone, Sanchez pulled the game out. Nobody is saying it was against the 85 Bears. It was late November, we're tied for first place, needed that game, QB stepped up.
LOL, didn't Drew Brees have 4 picks last game? Brees also had a 5 pick game last season. I guess he's a bust.
he has had some great 4th Quater comebacks he has made some big throws in the play offs (50 yarder to holmes in the endzone) He hit Braylon deep on alot of big time plays if he could get this down and to things like that every game he could be elite maybe he needs to have 3 straight games where he throws it 50 times so he can get use to throwing it more instead of us running it 35 times and havng him go 9 for 16 for a 161 yards the "ground and pound" nonsense doesn't work anymore and it hurt Sanchez growth.I don't know what Sparano is gonna do to Sanchez to make his growth happen quicker but i don't like the hiring i never did. The NFL isn't about running the ball 40 times a game anymore Rex needs to stick that philosphy up his ass. We need a guy who can complete 20 passes a game and i think Mark can with the right guys around him
