I read a report on CBS sports that Hargreaves admitted to his lack of hustle......sounds like a problem child.
Maybe he became lazy because he thought Bowles was clueless like some former Jets did (MoWilk and Leon Williams). Can't hurt to claim him and see if his attitude and effort improves with us. If not, we can kick him right back to the curb.-
DBs are divas in most cases. Hes a real good cover guy when we have basically none. Kyron Brown was signed from the PS today..he had some good moments in preseason & i loved his college tape. Between he,Austin,Poole & Hairston(who struggled but shouldnt be starting) maybe we have a floor from which to continue building Hargreaves would be a great addition & would allow us to focus on OL/Edge/WR in offseason
FWIW i thought the effort from TJ was better under GW than Bowles..hes just toast & we dont have the horses to play to his only strength(press)
I mean admitting it is half the battle, right? If he realizes he was wrong, maybe he'll work to fix it. NFL players are always dying for that elusive second contract. I think we'd be crazy not to place a claim on him.
agree Hell fucking no we are sadly in rebuild AGAIN and I don’t want a retread lazy pos TJ part 2 at this risk If we were 6-3 and on the edge, maybe Or If cap risk was reasonable sure both are a no though Easy pass
For what it's worth, I went on some Buccaneers forums to see what they thought. And they were all extremely happy that they cut bait with him and released him. They all felt as though he was a horrible cover corner. So while all is likely true, I think he's worth a try. It can't hurt, can it? Can it be worse than Daryl Roberts?
Hargreaves walks in the room and he's instantly the best cover corner on the roster Daniel Jones threw for 4 touchdown passes against this defense and that was still their best performance in several weeks. yeah. I'd say we could use him
Hargreaves is the guy that gets released and the fanbase of releasing team laughs at the fanbase of the team that he’s going to that thinks he might amount to something. The guys a bum and being a better option than Roberts means nothing as we need to do better than Roberts and Hargreaves next year.
Who cares? This season is toast anyway and Vernon Hargreaves is not fixing anything and I certainly wouldn’t want to be stuck with that contract if he gets injured. CB is obviously going to be a need going forward but lazy waste of talents aren’t the answer.
Change of scenery does work at times for players who are talented. Not to mention, we can always find a way to fuck him if he does get hurt. It seems like our MO with injuries this year anyway. Sign this underperforming beast
It's not crazy to pass on him with the fear of him getting hurt and then having to pay him $9 mil next year.
