-Pennington was accurate and he didnt make mistakes(besides the fumbles). I would like to see him stretch the field more, but im sure that will come soon. Clemens looks like a vet. Making line calls, audibles ect. and he managed the 2 minute drill almost perfectly. - Offensive line has done really well. It is a deffinate improvement over last year. D'brick didnt get beat once by simeon. The one bad thing about the blocking was the runningbacks who missed an assignment bad which led to a fumble. their is however no depth at 0line as we are learning that now in the second half - running backs. Houstan runs with absolute authority as i watched him drag a corner 3 or 4 yards before going down. blaylock didnt look to well. -wide receivers. there was no drops that i know of. Coles stood out with 5 catches. Cotchery may have gotten one knocked away that was in his hands but it was just nicely defended. -Defense. Drob gets no penetration at all. maybe once but thats all. Kimo was quiet as i didnt notice him. I did notice however ellis blowing threw double teams and getting a good rush on simms. The standout on ellis was when the rookie guard and jeremy trublood tried to double team him and he blew right in between him. it was three step drop I believe so he didnt sack him, but i believe he got a hit on him. Vilma did nothing. Barton and Rhodes stood out tackeling wise.
Adrian Jones is horrible, because he can't play right tackle. He looks lost as far as footwork goes and can't get a push because LE's are by definition, the bigger ends.
Well, that's fine. IMO, they (in general) didn't create much room for the RBs to move. Alot of times, there were defenders already waiting for the RBs before they even hit the LOS. I think Mangold and D'Brick played decently, though. Aside from Mangold's penalty, and Brick getting faked out by Rice on one play (didn't result in a sack, luckily), they managed to hold their own. I'm really not as high on AJ as you are. To me, he's mediocre at best, but then again, you probably know alot more about OL than I do. It's just that defensive ends get by him on the outside too much for me to be confident in his abilities.
totally agree on this--we suffered a major loss when RT Runyan chose the Eagles over the jets. We got Jones and he is a backup imo.
