are they really going to offer him the OC position before they hire a head coach who would want to pick his own staff? the only scenario this occurs is if Jeff Fisher is telling the Rams to hire him as a condition for him to coach them.
Looks like Fisher is coming to Miami though. *If Rams hire Haley for OC, Fisher is coaching Dolphins? That makes no sense either.*
Really? Someone says 'Rams' when he means 'Cardinals' and suddenly we're discussing St Louis as a possible destination?
Or more likely you don't grasp hypotheticals so there is no issue with my statement not making sense. point being the rams would only hire Haley as the OC before hiring a head coach if a perspective coach told them to do so as a condition of him taking the job. did that really need to be explained to you? nobody else seemed confused by the obvious. how embarrassing. not to mention the fact that fisher interviewed with the rams for several days so it isn't as if the hypothetical had no basis in reality. basically what I am saying was your post was sheer stupidity. EDIT: and the stupidity of your post is the gift that keeps on giving. Fisher to the Rams. thank you so much. it is easier to post when you don't have to do so peeking through your belly button.
The guy who said the Rams were interested in Haley retracted earlier in this thread. He confused them with the Cards. Haley has drawn interest from the Cardinals.
Per Rich Cimini - 18 hours ago. Jets haven't ruled out Haley ... yet. I'm starting to lose hope on this one, but, hope it gets done.
Haley likely has many options and possibly as a head coach. He and Ireland have a connection with Dallas. He's my first choice but the Jet's have to decide to move on soon. Even though Sparano fired him, I don't think you can rule out Dan Henning. I think Koetter and Jackson may be in play although Jackson coordinated the least disciplined offense in the NFL.
Trust me when I tell you guys this, you do not, I repeat YOU DO NOT want Dan Henning. I would love to see him go to you guys because I know it would mess up your offense and Sanchez, but he is god awful.
Didn't Koetter coordinate the least prolific offense in the NFL? I'd want nothing to do with him. Jackson is an interesting idea, I guess he'd be brought into a similar position that's being offered to Haley--assistant HC, in charge of QBs and WRs? He's been successful with those roles in the past. As for discipline, it seems that Sparano would have no issues dealing with that on his own. That being said, since Haley and Sparano have already worked together and understand their roles in a sort of "co-OC" situation, I'd rather have the Jets sign him.
Yeah, and really that's the point although so few see it...it's not the coach it's the QB..the best coach in the world can't make a mediocre QB great anymore than the worst coach in the world can make a great QB suck....
Well, not that it matters, since he's long retired, but Dan Henning was the Jets QB coach and elevated to play-calling duties over OC Weis for the brief Ray Lucas era. And he managed to make Jake Delhomme into a legit Superbowl QB. So he's not garbage, and it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen if he were our QB coach again.
