I know I'm supposed to rip Herm in this spot and say how bad the Chiefs are going to be, and obviously the Jets turned to crap under his reign, but the Chiefs could be pretty good. He did have us a FG away from the championship game. That's a FACT that I apologize having to post. Stranger things will have happened if the Chiefs win the SB this year. I would save the Ha Ha Herm stuff until we actually see them suck. Larry Johnson didn't inspire Ha Ha feelings from me when he was running by us last year, and it's not like he's going to forget how to play football because Herm is the coach. Herm is one of those motivators that eventually players tune out after 4 years, but his schtick sometimes works at first. The Jets played hard in SD and Pittsburgh that year. My $0.02
I agree. The Chiefs will be solid contenders this season. But, it is only a matter of time until crucial parts of that team are neglected.
LOL! Herm is funny, I'm surprised he didn't call a time out during the interview, or did he just forget how many he had left?
Well, there is that. But don't forget his knack for tutoring the young guys on defense! You know, "Here's how you sleep through Monday meetings, you pull these two chairs together like this, and you stretch across them like this, and...Zzzzzz"
Agreed. As much as I like to lay into Herm about a number of issues, I think he was hired by the Chiefs to make a run, going the opposite route of the fabled Bucs/Gruden situation with a 'Nice Guy' coach to replace an old-school warrior who had a confounding tendency to burst into tears at any moment. Hiring Ty Law is their 'final piece', apparently. I wouldn't be surprised to see them make the second round of the playoffs easily.
