I'm not playing devil's advocate and it'd be weird for me to troll about htis topic since I've been saying this about Hacknberg since last summer and even made posts saying I wouldn't touch him early. I went into the season with an open mind, hoping that he'd perform better and played just as bad if not worse. But that's besides the point... if someone is high on Hackenberg, for whatever reason, that's fine. But me not knowing as much as the FO does not mean I'll place blind faith into the regime or the pick (like some here want me to do for some reason), and if you're high on Hackenberg, which is fine, just acknowledge that he played a role in the team's and his declining play as a quarterback. The arguments I heard in an interview and by posters here, blame everyone but the Quarterback. Yes, the OL and coaching staff hurt him, but that does not a
Oh, that's why I think Geno is bad, right? Or why I said he couldn't be a quality on here a year ago too ,right? That's why I've continually blasted his play too? If you think the homer googles off, you'd see the same arguments that you guys have made against other QBS could easily made. But , hey, you can continue to place blind faith into a FO that hasn't really proven much yet.
I think it's too soon to tell what this kid is going to be, but Mac has to take it on this one. He chose him too early.
I don't know that I've ever seen a QB play this badly in an NFL game. That includes preseason and 4th stringers.
Yes, pretty terrible. I did take a glance over at the Bills box score, C.Jones and E.J.Manuel are a combined 5 of 16 for 45 yards and 3 sacks with -22 yards. So 5-16 for 23 yards. Doesn't make me feel any better about Hacks game but nice to see their back up and 3rd string doing that. At least Hack is 4th string.
Yep... verty, very disappointed and with Petty being potentially hurt long term,,,this sucks. Frankly, I wonder what galaxy MM was in when he selected him....
The way people overreact on here you'd think a player can never improve. Ever. Kid isn't ready for this season, that's fine, was never going to be. Let's wait and see how he's looking next year. Judging him off 4 preseason quarters is way too early.
Hackenberg played about as bad as a rookie could play out there tonight. But oh well, he's a young 21 year old rookie only playing in his 2nd preseason game. He had by far the fewest amount of offseason reps as a 4th QB as well. Petty also looked awful throughout preseason last year followed by having a year of development from the sidelines before looking (overall) as good as any preseason QB this year not named Dak Prescott. We'll (as a fan base) get a chance to see how Hackenberg (like Petty) looks during his 2nd preseason come 2017 when compared to this year's preseason.
He needs work. We knew that, not stressing. I do like pettys deep accuracy. He will start next season unless this team finds a qb stud in some fashion Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
You talk about not having reps but he was wildly inaccurate in college and we saw that tonight.Thats something that doesnt just go away when you get to the nfl.But lets draft him in round 2
