Do you all realize that if we meet Detroit in the Postseason we will be throwing Christian to the Lions?

Glad Rex isn't our coach he would care more about the meaningless win than letting the kid play ... I'm glad our coach let him do his thing and who knows if he throws a game winner his confidence would be thru the roof. it didn't turn out that way oh well ... on a positive we have one hell of a punter :)

In regards to taking a lineman in the second round ... the dominoes didn't fall our way and the guys I assume we wanted went a few picks ahead of us, in a few of the rounds ... we will focus on the line next year I'm sure.

Like many here have stated he had some good and some bad but at the end of the day I was very happy with his performance

The thing that jumped out at me in regards to Hack's performance isn't the TD pass which was just a thing of beauty, but the fact that the kid showed poise and wasn't like a deer in the headlights.
Give this kid some reps and build his confidence and I think you'll see the pick was a great one in a year or 2 .

Let's not forget this kid played in an NFL Offense in college, he's not as raw as some coming out.
To me, it's more about Hack getting his confidence back.

Agreed, and although I didn't get the game, I watched CH's throws in the highlights and the thing that I was most impressed by was his pocket presence...Wow...I didn't expect what i saw at all...Stood up tall/straight in the pocket with no happy feet (reminded me a lot of how Brady looks in the pocket if i can make that very small comparison), and just looked calm overall especially given this was his first nfl game type experience...give me that poise, a strong arm, and TIME to develop a QB (i.e. no reason to rush this kid), and although there are no guarantees to any of this, but I'll definitely take (and like) both the Jets and his chances...good start for him and good exposure to all of us fans

Still 21 years old and lots to learn, but the 1st drive was very impressive, smarts, poised, cannon- 27yarder to Anderson was on a rope, touch pass for td was beautiful

Hack was rocked on a lot of his late game attempts. I think it was Shell at LT that didn't even slow his guy down on the final few attempts. When he was given some protection I thought Hack looked good considering his lack of reps in practice.

I wasn't happy with the Hack pick but I got to say the kid impressed me yesterday.

Being under Chans/Fitz wing this year is going to give him the best chance of turning his career around.

The kid can sling it.. He threw some bullets and also showed touch.. His footwork looked waaaay better and much improved from a few months ago at the combine. With Chan guiding him and Fitz showing him the ropes I think there is a glimmer of hope.

Both Hack and Petty's development won't amount to nothing unless we rebuild the O line. Our O line depth is putrid.

Kid is the future if he stays on the right path. That first drive was cash money.

I think this is the key to take away from last nights game play. While ideally you don't want a project in the 2nd round he does seem like he's more on the ball than Geno or Mark were at this stage. The Jets need to go ahead and run with 4 QB's this season and let him sit. He can learn how to be a team leader type from Fitz, how not to avoid sacks from Geno and have a comrade in arms, so to speak, in Petty.
Hopefully, unlike Mark and Geno, Hack gets the time to finished getting his head screwed on straight.

Didn't look any worse than Goff or Wentz, minus the plethora of draft picks it took to get them.

So watch his first drive as a pro and then tell me he wasn't accurate.

After hearing the TC reports and reading the crap being posted here, I was expecting him to hit Mr. Jet with his first pass and the ghost of Fireman Ed with his second. Instead, he was poised, on time, accurate, and used a variety of receivers on that first drive and threw a strike for the TD. What happened later demonstrates that he still needs a lot more work, but what I saw last night was encouraging. Those calling him a bust or wasted pick at this point are idiots.

I was impressed by his play. I counted 3 drops, one throwaway, and 2 dropbacks where pressure was right in his face within 2 seconds.

Now the INT. The Giants DLman made great play. Hack didn't see the NT drop off the line. It happens. He will learn.

I'm surprised at how good his footwork was. Look at his footwork compared to Geno Smith.

He did look good in his first drive and I don't know what happened after that but that was the only time he looked good.
