Believe me, nobody has been "worried" about the Yankees in October in years, they're a pushover.

That rings kind of hollow from the guy who started a thread about the Mets loss just last week. Nice try though...

This is a baseball forum, it's appropriate to discuss the greatest collapse in sports history and the long lasting effect it's had on the Yankees. Clearly the team has never recovered from the GYC, what's wrong with talking about it? They've gone from a post season force to be reckoned with to a feeble collection of expensive parts that don't fit. Who knew the GYC would scar them so badly??

^^ Actually, the Yankees haven't won it all since 2000. So its not the GYC thats weighing them down, its just that they got too close to the Mets that year and got infected with their suck disease.

Well consider that in the Mets lone playoff appearance last year they've won more games than the Yankees have since game 4 of the GYC. Since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS the Yankees have won 4 playoff games. At that pace they'll catch the Mets 6 from last year in about 2010.

Talk all you want about your 26 WS and how great your franchise is and how many AL East pennants you've won but how about you guys win some playoff series with a 200 million dollar roster before you start bitchin about Met fans playing in October. Just because you guys avoided the golf course a week later the 3 of the last 4 years is meaningless. I'd rather the Mets not make the playoffs then watch whatever you guys wanna call Yankee playoff baseball since Game 4 of the GYC.

Hey junc just curious maybe you should put a stat line on how pathetic Derek Jizzer has been the last 3 postseasons....

Yeah but they have 4 postseason victories since the GYC, at least they made a few WS before becoming an the answer to a 200 million dollar joke.

Consider that in the same time frame the Mets have 6 postseason victories, who infected who with the suck disease?

Sorry, but GYC was started and carried on 3 years ago for the same reasons I stated above...

If you wanna pin GMC on some one as a Met fan you should start by looking in the mirror...

    PS.

    the Nats & Marlins

Ahh 4 postseason wins since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, not exactly anything to talk trash about.

Oh wait before you remind me.... the Yankees have won 26 WS titles.

    Boy, you sure showed me!

Of course, considering the pathetic state of that league, national league victories are twice as easy to come by . . . .

    If you insist:

    2005-2007 postseason for Derek Jeter:

    18-54, .333, 4 doubles, 3 HRs, 7 RBI

    Wow he's been putrid!

Stop concerning yourself w/ the yankees and worry about your pathetic franchise that can't even make the playoffs in the weak NL.

Rich, you seem to be awfully insistent in enjoying the Yankees playoff failures. Mabe you should consider following a hockey team. Give you something to do this time of year.:breakdance:

Actually when you work in the business I am in it's my job to be insistent on enjoying Yankee playoff failures. I get paid to have an opinion on these sort of things.

Oh junc I'm gonna concern myself, Yankee playoff embarrasments are a running theme in the Bronx right now. Lets see

2001- Meltdown vs Diamondbacks in 9th inning
    2002- Crushed by Angels
2003- Lose to much overmatched Marlins
    2004- GYC
2005- Maybe the only respectable performance in losing in 5 to Angels
2006- Laughed off field by Tigers
    2007- Another 1st round failure

Say what you want about the Mets making the playoffs in the weak NL but you fail to realize that the defending champ is in the NL, the better parity is in the NL and the smaller revenue franchises are in the NL

Like I said, as pathetic as the Mets are we've got 2 more playoff wins than you guys in 1 apperance than you guys do since game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. I understand we suck and can't make the playoffs but what does that say about you guys?

Seeing this thread resurrected is like watching a starving man lick a fast food wrapper for nourishment... it's sad, and you know it's not really making them feel better, yet there's something about the depraved nature of it that you can't help but watch.

Whatever gets you through the offseason, Mets fans.

those failures came after another ynasty, the Mets choked against an overmatched cards team last year and you guys haven't won anything in over 20 years. The Champ came from the NL but the NL still stunk and still stinks, there wasn't an excuse losing to SL last year and not making the playoffs again this year.

It's great you have 2 more playoff wins but what exactly has that gotten you? You guys have been a pathetic franchise for 2 decades, you guys have 3 playoff apps, 1 div title, 4 series wins, 1 WS app since 1989 we have been to the postseason 13 straight years, won 17 seriea, 6 league pennants, 4 WS and 10 div titles. Call me crazy but I'll take tat succes w/ some "hard times" lately over what the Mets have done in their entier history. Remember in a 3 year span from 1998-2000 we won more Championships than you guys have won in 40+ years.

Oh there it is... we've won more championships than the Mets. Even in 3 years we've won more than in your history. Thanks for the history lesson junc. I'd forgotten you guys were the most succesful franchise in baseball in the 20th century.

How about you come back to 2007, what have the Yankees done since 2000? Spend more money and make guys like you even more disapointed in the failures of the team. I am a realist, I knew back in April the Phillies were better than the Mets , you guys fail to realize that the Mets failure was caused by the fact that they aren't very good. They were 2 games under .500 after May, that's 2/3 of the season they played under .500. Should they not have collpased the way they did? No they shouldn't have but they did because they aren't a good team.

Once again though thanks for the history lesson, I really enjoyed reading about the Yankees since 1989. You Yankee fans make me laugh, All that success and you are still the biggest bunch of miserable fucks I've ever seen.
