Isn't that funny since this GYC thread is about HISTORY. When you have history you can bring it up. Interestingly no Met fans ever bring up any history besides GYC which didn't even involve them but a Yankee loss means as much as a Mets win to the Mets fans.
GYC is about baseball history junc that just happens to involve the Yankees. Surely a student of the game like yourself can see that.

The Yankee fan brought up an irrelevancy in an attempt to hijack/sidetrack the discussion. It's like when champ starts pasting his spiel about the Jets being a loser franchise like the Cards Lions etc out of nowhere in a thread.
This is a thread born of jealousy and hatred for the franchise every team look sup to. Why can you just talk about 1 loss and we can't talk about 26 Championships 4 of which happended in the last decade?

It's a sign of respect, you don't see us starting lifetime threads on the Mets or Sox do you? That's b/c you guys respect the yankees and wish your teams could have half the success the Yanks have had- heck you'd like to have half the success in yuor history that the Yanks have had in the past 10 years.

I have fun w/ it, like I said it's just respect from opposing fans towards the franchise they wish their teams could be like.
Actually duke's, Gonzaga at least lost to a higher seeded team. For the 4th time this decade duke lost in the Sweet 16 as a 1 seed(only ONE other 1 seed has lost in the Sweet 16 in that span).
