Updated pics, with new Tom and Crash...

Too wide to take the full pic, first pic is the left side, second is the right.

I got my son the same guitar for Christmas. He absolutley loves it, he'll just stand there and play it for as long as he possibly can.

    Try this http://www.cyberfret.com/index.php

If I were you, though, Id just start out by looking up a few tabs and trying to play along. Theory, chords, scales, and all that other stuff you can learn later. But its up to you, of course.

Forget websites when it comes to learning. Get someone who inspires you and most important you like and would take down the pub afterwards , that kind of like.
The more local they are to you the more practice you get.
Get a song that you like and learn to play it with your teacher. Something like 'house of the rising sun'.
    Borrow an axe before buying.
Electric is easier to play than acoustic.
If you get an electric get some headphones so you don't drive everyone mad.

    Good luck

The better question would be what do I want to play? :) I bought it a few months ago, hoping to finally learn how to play. Unfortunately, there's always something else comes up and I am still making the very first steps....

As for what I want to play, as one of my co-workers said, guitars of that shape are made to play only one kind of music....

    Dave Mustaine rules!

Really nice low action on the Jacksons. Never owned one myself , the closest I ever got to something like that was a BC Rich (red). Always fancied getting this one though......

I bought instead a Hohner pro Gibson copy. I tried both in the shop and actually preferred the range of the Hohner. The Gibson played better and sounded better , but the different range of playing styles suited the hohner much better. Shop owner was pretty pissed off when I chose the Hohner though ?200 difference!

Ironically playing football ended my guitar playing days as the damage to my left hand and fingers has got me arthritis .

Apparently I'm a dead ringer for Mustaine , wish I could play like him though
