Just got back from seeing it and I liked it a lot. Great balance of humour and good action sequences. I feel like they could have developed Ronan the Accuser's back story a lot more but other than that I thought it was pretty top notch across the board. I don't know about ranking it against other Marvel movies and I haven't seen a lot of them (like Thor 2, Winter Soldier, etc.) but if it isn't at the very top it's damn close to it. I'd definitely watch a sequel to it. I didn't really get the reference at the end after the credits, I think that IP is a little before my time or something.
Watched this, and had a lot of fun. I didn't know anything about the characters going into it and I was skeptical that Chris Pratt could be a superhero lead, but it was a great, fun movie. Is this going to lead to a Guardians/Avengers combined movie? Or are they in separate universes and what not?
Thanos is linked in both films...I wonder if they will battle Thanos on Earth and the Guardians come to help in Avengers 3 with Avengers 3 being the final movie in Marvel's 3rd arc of films.
I'm thinking we get an Empire Strikes Back feel from Second Avengers movie (I haven't read enough comics to have any real idea). I'm guessing Thanos or someone working for him comes to Earth to get Tesseract for Infinity Guantlet and they end up getting it, "defeating" the Avengers along the way.
The second one is age of ultron. I've heard that the premise is stark creates ultron because the avengers are tired and it starts to run amok. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
I took my 5-year old to see it. It was his first movie theater experience. Some lady and her two young kids were in the same row as us but on the right side seating. They were about 20 feet away. Two times during the film they laughed and caused my son to yell, "Not funny over there" to them. When we got out of the theater, I called my wife. I gave the phone to my son and he gave this review to my wife- "We saw 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. A tree died and there was a raccoon."
If you were "of age" in the 80's, it was a trip down memory lane. Oh yeah, Rocket absolutely stole that movie.
Just read James Gunn was fired from Guardians Vol. 3 because of Tweets he made in the past? Not sure what they are or what happened, but that is terrible news for the MCU. Both Guardians of the Galaxy movies are great and I wanted to see Gunn's conclusion with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Must be pretty bad to be fired.
He tried to delete 10,000 tweets about pedophilia, child porn, animal sex with kids, raping kids, getting raped, diddling kids and bring diddled by kids. Of course, we was just joking, which is why he tried to delete them lol. Sick fucks, the lot of them.
GOTG2 is arguably a worse offense to humanity than his pedophilia. But at least he apologized to his industry first and foremost. Hollywood is a sick, self absorbed culture. It’s a shame average people are so easily influenced by them.
Guardians 2 wasn't that bad! I enjoyed it. My problems with this are: 1. Why did Marvel hire him if these tweets were too offensive? You'd assume they did a proper background check before handing him a potentially huge franchise in the MCU. 2. Can't really use "I was young and stupid" as an excuse since his is 51 now, meaning he tweeted that stuff in his 40's. I'd get it if he was 18 at the time. 3. If you hold these standards, won't it force you to fire many of the people that work for you?
If what they say is true, what he posted was waay beyond teddy bears and rainbows. That shit is toxic no matter where or when its posted..If he posted that, he should have been fired.
