Winslow had surgery on his knee - a lot of guys have that. According to reports he's going to be recovered by June and his playing career should be fine.

Good, cause Winslow is one of my favorite players in the league. I'm pretty sure it was a microfracture, which isn't the deadliest knee injury out there.

The way I read it this morning, they made it sound like it was very serious.

u can check on nfl.com for combine news. greg olsen had a 35 1/2 vertical jump and 23 reps on bench. reggie bush had 24 reps last year, that is insane.

Greg Olsen wouldn't be a good pick for the Jets because he doesn't really fit the mold of guys the Jets have been bringing in recently. He's an underachiever, and I'm not sure if he has the heart in him to ever be a great player. Sure, he's got WR type skills as a receiver, but he's a marginal blocker, and I doubt he'd really have the work ethic to improve on it much. That's what seperates him from thye Shockey's and Winslow's, they wanted nothing more than to win football games (and to them that meant them dominating). For Olsen, it's more of try here and there type deal, i'd pass.

By the way, Kellen Winslow was maybe the best TE in football last season.

How is Olsen an underachiever? It only looks that way because of the crappiness of Miami recently.

How do you "doubt he has the work ethic" to improve? Has he done something that made you think this?

I'll pass on G-Reg and his third leg (that sounds really gay if you never heard the song, so don't judge me haha).

Just something I picked up watching, oh, just about every game he played in college. He was horribly inconsistent, even when the offense was clicking, he was never the top option that any of his predecessors were. When you consider the amount of hype he had, you would hope for some signs that he was making strides, but he never showed them. I can tell there are guys that have been limited by their offense, but I think in regards to Olsen, he was looking for easy street.

And that's coming from a Miami Hurricane fan... Good to know and I hope the Jets stay away from him, as I always did anyway.

Unlike Becht and Brady, Johnny Mitchell actually had 1st round talent.

It was microfracture surgery which is the same type of surgery Amare S. had. Given the four-month recovery period, I imagine it wasn't as extensive as Amare's, but it is surgery that requires some definite recovery in that they drill holes in the knee to stimulate cartiledge growth.
