McElroy is the tits. I will call for his insertion into the starting lineup for Week 3 if Sanchez's ESPN total QBR is below 50.
If they plan to have Brunell as the #2 and put him in the game if needed, I'd like to see him get in this Eagles game. He doesn't need too much practice after 20 years in the NFL, but you want him to have some action if he's the first guy in for Sanchez. It's that or go with a guy who has never been in a game before. After Brunell gets some work, by all means let McElroy play and they might even let Willy do something besides kneel on the ball.
Well according to Rex's CC yesterday Brunell is still on "out" status, so barring a miracle two days out from the game it looks like G-Mac is starting.
I get the feeling we have another Brees / Rivers situation developing here. Its way too early to say for sure but McElroy looks like he has the stuff to be a future starter for many years and I think he throws a better ball than Sanchez, his accuracy looks way better. Regardless of playing against 2's or 3's the kid has had to develop a relationship with totally new receivers and he's done so. Sanchez is still over-throwing way too many passes and isn't nearly as accurate. 2 years from now could make for a very interesting camp.
