Really going out on a limb there huh? (edit) once I read this comment I immediately replied without reading further, and now I see that I was not the only that thought he was going out on a limb. Ill try and be productive here while Im at it, I think you have to have Brunell as the the #2 guy because McElroy has not seen anything more than a vanilla defense, and you just cant have a guy turning the ball over. Go with the vet. However, McElroy looks promising and maybe we can even get something for him somewhere down the line.
In my opinion when a starting QB goes down, the season is screwed, with a few exceptions. Granted, our O isnt dependent on Sanchez's amazing skills, but in an injury situation, I think McElroy would much more exciting to watch then Mark Brunell. Brunell WON"T be our Hostetler. Mc Elroy is a rookie, we don't know what the hell he can do, but he looks good in preseason and if something was to happen, I'd take him over Brunell.
I for one cant wait to see McElroy kick the dolphags ass January 1st. It might just be worth flying down to Miami for
McElroy is the next Brett Ratliff!!!! I like what I've seen of McElroy but keep in mind a lot of this was against 2s and 3s. He will be a serviceable backup for years to come.
You're right. The result would have been transformed had he on the final play of the game a) run into touch holding the ball still or b) thrown the ball downfield at covered receivers.
