Above all else, let us not forget last year's playoffs.

OK, SG shouldn't have fumbled during the Ravens game, but penalties are what cost us that game. And crappy passing coverage is what nearly cost us the Texans game.

Btw I love Shonn Greene as a player. Not to many running backs can get their pad level that low and bring the hurt on opposing safeties, even linebackers sometimes. Just don't fumble in big spots and we're good bro.

Greene didn't give them any points, all he did was give them possession. for your stupid fucking position to have any merit, every time a team fumbles the recovering team would have to score a TD on the ensuing possession. then fumbles would equal TD's. but if any team in the history of the NFL has ever held an opponent from scoring a TD after a fumble, clearly fumbles don't cause the TD's.

I'm amazed something so obvious even has to be detailed for anyone. I know this dumb fuck thread and all the dumb fuck posts in support of it came in the heat of the game, but there simply is no excuse for stupid ass arguments like this.

Greene is the best running back the Jets have had since Curtis Martin in his prime (before Herm destroyed him with 400 carries in his first season of badly coaching the team)

He needs to be on the field more than LT is as the weather gets colder. Greene is a power back who runs over defenders. Use LT in passing situations but give Greene most of the rushing carries.

Greene isn't even the best RB on the Jets this year. I love the way the kid runs but he has a long way to go.

Lamont didn't have a prime. He had potential and then he had back injuries.

Feel bad for Greene. He had the fumble thing handled and wasn't playing much behind LT and when he finally gets a chance to carry again he fumbles... It's probably just a random thing but based on his history people are going to hold it against him. It's the same when Folk misses a FG, everybody is just waiting for him to do it so they can jump him for it.

And a shitty offseason work ethic that led to injuries.

The LaMont Jordan reference is hysterical.

This has got to be the most assenine post I've read all day, or an attempt at sarcasm that went unnoticed by most.
    I'm leaning towards assenine.
    Lamont jordan in his prime....

Two fumbles the whole season. I blame the hot dog guy for the Pack game, if he put the mustard on for me I would have eaten it without taking my eye off the game, instead I had to take my eye off the field to place the mustard on the roll. The Pack scored a field goal both times I ate a dog. And I had diahrrea when the Jets were driving and failed to score a TD. See, its not just Greene.

Fumbles are one of the most coachable mistakes a player can make. Greene has great vision, patience, power, lower body strength, balance, burst, and game speed. He's going to be an excellent back for us for the next 10 years.

I doubt he has a 10 year career with his running style.

Well it's a good thing the Jets aren't using him the way Herm used Larry Johnson. Greene needs a compliment back who shares the load. I think the work distribution has been excellent this year. Though I would've liked to have seen him get more carries early in the season, I'm sure it'll be similar to last year where he got most of his reps late in the season / playoffs.

That's a good point. If they continue to limit his carries he could have a prolonged career. I do think a big part of why he's been limited is because of his own deficiencies, mostly in the passing game (catching, blitz pickup). It's also possible they're trying to keep him fresh.
