Brown kicked a 45 yarder that would have been good from 70. No defense though. It almost missed the net it was so high up the goal post.
Bomb was surprisingly a perfect throw. It actually shocked Turner who slowed to wait on it, and he shouldn't have. Wound up in a dive, and through his hands. Cro looked horrible.
Sanchez missed 2 easy throws. 1 in the flat to holmes, and another that appeared to be a mix up between him, turner or both. He was a little late on a perfect pass to Holmes on a 12-15 yard out. Great play by defense. Tebow really didn't have much to work with after the snap. His Bomb was perfect, but through the hands of Turner. Exciting with the ball in his hands. McElroy looked horrible, and I am a big fan of his.
That's been a lot of the commentary I've read. A lot of it is injury, but Rex said he was disappointed in Kerley. Hill is a rookie, and can't be counted on for much in his first outing. Reports I've read are not impressed with Chaz Schillens. Braylon Edwards is gone. Plaxico is gone. It's a bit thin by almost any reasonable standard. I think that when the Super Bowl is the goal, you go for it. Unless Hill breaks out freakish in his first year, it's looking like they need more weapons.
Perfect example of walking around with a hammer thinking that everything is a nail. You see a comment made by a known Tebow supporter, and you immediately think that it's Tebow related. Couldn't have anything to do with the seeming 2000 or so articles in the past couple of days talking about how thin the Jets are at WR. Couldn't have anything to do with Rex being pissed that the Jets only had 4 WRs left the other day at the completion of practice. Couldn't have anything to do with all the discussions around this forum about lack of depth at WR corps or the lack of veterans. Nope, it wasn't any of that, rather, it was some nefarious "this will help Tebow" statement. /rant.
Cro strutted over to the offense bench and taunted them afterwards, and he did put a good lick on him. Holmes ducked his head right into his gut.
Ball was behind and high. Bell looked to have miss communication. Never even attempted to cover Keller.
Richardson Exploded around the end. I instantly looked up to see who 92 was. Coples had a similar play in the first series. Right Tackle on both. Also, Scott looks rejuvenated.
I like what I hear from Sal Pal; 1. Sanchez has complete command of the offense. 2. With additional 12 lbs. of body mass, the ball is thrown with authority 3. The ball is coming out much quicker - it comes out quick, with zip and is right on target. 4. 11/16 is over 60% mark as well - and no INT, and 1 TD. The yardage could have been better but then I didn't even expect this kind of completion ratio in the first place. I like that - especially against first team Jets defense. Maybe Sparano does know what the hell he is doing.
Yea - I heard that little summary for him. It sounded really good. It's nice to hear from someone who actually watches and analyzes the QB play rather than just keeps track of numbers.
