And in Giants news they will have Harry Connick Jr performing a rousing rendition of "take me home country roads" The New Jets Stadium will rock on Monday night
It shows how the Jets spare no costs and get it, its entertainmnet. I hear the giants have Liza Minelli signing the national anthem and some comedians from the Catskills doing half time
17a, its the Jets not the NFL. The NFL does the Thrusday night concert to start the season, I think its in New Orleans. This is the Jets opening up OUR place.
must be getting old, but this drives me crazy. It's not like we won the superbowl or anything. Fireworks show at halftime??? Why not wait and see if we win the game or not. Are they going to have to prolong halftime for this crap as well? The pre-game, tailgate Slash show is pretty cool I guess, give people something to do while checking out the new digs. But come on, a full blown halftime celebration??? Unjustified if you ask me, and God forbid we are down by a couple of TDs. I guess the days of going to the stadium to watch football are over. I'll be longing for the days of the halftime spiral shows for sure. Okay, maybe I am just old... Chill out man, its the opening of our new place, I think its great that we spare no costs and do it up for the grand opening. Its still about Football.
Shit, I didn't read it I assumed it was this Monday to go along with the Ring of Honor. My apologies.
Greenday is ok, but let's not start sucking eachothers.... it's MNF so I'm sure they pay for some of it, Now let's see if Woody goes back the frisbee dogs by week 2.
Yeah, it'll definitely be a for-TV thing, especially considering we're the first MNF game of the year. Green Day is good. They don't do anything out of the ordinary, but they're a very good pop-punk band who write catchy songs (with all power chords). And they do put on a good live show. The Slash group is interesting. His solo album has its moments, though I haven't listened to it that much. So it's Slash pregame in the parking lot and Green Day at halftime?
I worked at the Prudential Center for about a week, and the Pussy Cat Dolls were performing a concert there. Nicole is fucking smoking hot, definitely worth going an hour early or whatever to go see her.
Green Day could be the course of a lot of boos if the Jets are trailing, and or playing poorly by halftime.
Green Day is not football music....but whatever.....should be interesting at the very least. (see the post above)
If they are selling "Green" as the tie in to the Jets game, I'd rather see the Reverend Al Green, at least he's a genuine great and good. Green Day? Their politics and music are about as "punk" and radical as your average sixty-something "Baby Boomer" Hollywood executive or Park Slope trust fund hipster. Another bunch of enlightened wisemen who think they are superior to at least 50% of the American population. I wonder who they will choose to slag that night since GWB isn't around for them to kick anymore?
This should clear up who is paying... "Opening night entertainment is presented by Bud Light, MasterCard, Pepsi, HBO GO and MAX GO." "ESPN Radio will be distributing light bands that glow green to fans entering the stadium." Hopefully they are not glow sticks
It would be cool if Slash, Jason Bonham and Miles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) covered this tune:
If anyone here is on Twitter maybe you could send him a message and a link for me. Thanks! http://twitter.com/SLASH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT2DktNBRfo
