anybody that believes this isn't a competition is obviously delusional. there is no benefit to lying and wasting time.

they don't know who's ready to go week 1, if they did they'd be working their ass off to make sure Sanchez limits mistakes or Geno is ready to read some pro defenses.

oh and Geno only got the the ones because it was his day, at leads thats the stated reason.
Thats going too far... Sanchez is still somewhat valuable due to his amounts of playoff experience and limited success. Put to you this way, if he's not Playing for the Jets he gets a gig elsewhere as at least a backup.

I don't think he's been great, in fact I think he's done things that ruin an otherwise average set of QB skills, but we need to stop acting like he's less than dirt. he has some worth, he just lacks the ability to use any of it lately (and unlike gabbert has actually proven that it can work at least somewhat in a grander stage).
don't be dense, Rex isn't trying to foist Sanchez on the team.

Idzik and all are giving him one last chance to prove himself partly due to a sliver of hope that a new beginning can bring out a working franchise QB and mostly due to the fact that its financially reasonable and near unfeasible to move on in 2013.

    Lets be realistic here people.

One of these guys needs to step up and take control of the QB competition. Sounds like Sanchez had a 2012 type Sanchez performance (INT, fumble, oops fell over and sacked myself) and Geno couldn't get his guys lined up correctly.

I'm hoping Geno wins this but I want someone to pull away here and take control.

False starts were due to guys jumping the snap count(Winters and Ducasse)

However we can't have that and Geno has to realize after 1 you gotta more in control

This is what he has done his whole career, the first 2 years we allow it to growing pains. The last two years we all have become aware, these are major flaws that Mark cannot out grow or seem to correct.
BTW, if you are still under the impression that Rex will bet his Head coaching future on Mark Sanchez you are totally blind

What subscribed to the Mark Sanchez sucks news?
    No completions, Td's, first downs?

You seem to be subscribed to the negatives news only.

Because he's yet to take that next step we needed to be successful

Sure he completes passes and scores but he's making rookie mistakes and he's far from a rookie

I have always supported mark through everything throughout these 4 years as him as a QB. I do kinda want geno to win the job. People saying geno "not having that great of numbers." I personally think they are pretty good but you are missing the main thing geno is not turning the ball over! We always have had a good defense if our offense dosnt turn the ball over we are in every game and this is why i want geno to start he is not turning the ball over and is making big plays (30 yards+) plays

um... no but. if he does those two things he's doing alright.
what does he need to do besides those two things? everything a QB does is in a collected effort to do these two things.

Thats a lame argument, you're basically saying should he ever be producing with struggles at times, he can't play QB. because Geno would never have those right?

    There is a but

Matt Leinart completes passes so did Browning Nagle

Sanchez is not a long term solution

Lets put it this way we know what Sanchez gives us

Are you willing to settle for that

Ok that sounds a lot more Reasonable. This whole camp competition is over blown. Live defense against opposing teams and we will see where these 2 qb's are. Hopefully both are great along with the whole Team.

@TonyMaC I do think Sanchez can be a serviceable backup. As a starter he's done.

I dont know much about the GMac situation but I do know he's intelligent and makes good throwing decisions.

Without the obvious Jet front office jokes, why isnt he battling Geno?

Same thing I've been wondering. I mean he was technically the starter at the end of last season. At the very least if Geno pans out he would be a good backup.

Because of the amount of money owed to Sanchez...Can they salvage Sanchez? That is what they are trying to figure out. GMac is a guy that will have a job in this league because of his ability to game manage
