Problem is Geno is at best outplaying at worst equal to the incumbent QB.

There would be no drama story if Sanchez was dominating

"Jets fans are brutal...take a look around the league...there are quite a few teams that would love to have Sanchez."

    Ha.

It doesn't mean zero, because if Geno came out and looked like a typical clueless rookie we wouldn't even be having this conversation. The fact that he is showing something, and looking at least marginally better then our 5 year starter means that he has a legit chance at starting, something most of the Sanchez fanboys were dismissing as impossible just a few weeks ago.

The fact that people are putting so much stock into a scrimmage is a joke. I dont even put any stock into the preseason, but a scrimmage? and people are getting so worked up over it?

    I swear.....

The only way Sanchez goes to the pro bowl with Spiller is if Spiller gets him a ticket. Sanchez would have no chance of even making the Bills (Fins or Pats) roster besides starting or making the pro bowl.

Think about all the odd coincidences that would have to happen for Sanchez to make the pro bowl. There would have to be 20-30 fatal accidents all within a few months to AFC QBS for Sanchez to even make the top 10 in voting. My advice is play the lottery you would have a better chance with that than betting on Sanchez making the pro bowl.

Unless, of course, your guy was playing better. Then it would suddenly matter.

No one is jumping on Geno's dick and calling him the goat. They're saying he's showing promise, competing hard, and has a legit shot to win the job. That's not hyping anyone up, it's using your fucking brain.

The fact that Sanchez a 5th year starter is still throwing bad INTs in a scrimmage is sad

Geno is improving something Mark never did after year 2

It's all about progression(as in Mark Sanchez has trouble going through his progressions)

It's all about competition(as in Mark Sanchez is not competition to other QBs)

It's all about the fact that a rookie is showing more promise than a 5th year vet who played in the system, got tutelage from a QBS who played well in the system and had a head start on the play book

You still think this is a fake competition? You're delusional. Why don't you open your eyes and pay attention to what is actually happening.

BTW, Geno got the first snaps with the 1's today in the fake competition. If Geno gets the 1st team snaps on Friday will it just be a trick by the Jets to feed the media monster?

Not even Buffalo or Jacksonville would take Sanchez. At least Gabbert has some upside and Henne IMO is slightly better. Kolb is an average QB he just can't stay healthy and Manuel has upside. No one is hyping Geno we're just pleased that he is progressing well in camp. I sometimes wonder if you guys are just Sanchez fans or are you really Jets fans.

I wouldnt call it a competition

Marty, Lee and Idzik are in the lab creating the next big thing to hit an NFL field while Rex is trying to pawn off his guy on the new regime

It's like choosing between Pepsi and store brand Cola

I think we have all seen enough of McElroy to know that he is not close to NFL starting QB material. He has an arm like a pop gun and no pocket presence. He was awful last season and his arm looked incredibly weak in preseason 2011.

These stats demonstrate how these scrimmages and preseason games can't be taken too seriously. McElroy should not be taken seriously except as a potential 3rd string QB this year.

Here is what it boils down to, IMO. Smith starts against Buffalo if he looks like he is ready to play in the NFL. He is showing they physical tools. It is going to come down to his ability to learn and run the offense and his decision making. The only way Sanchez wins the job is if Smith shows he is not ready or Sanchez begins lighting it up. Right now, from what I have heard, Smith is having a better camp.

McElroy should not even be in the picture, tonight's stat line notwithstanding. He is what he is - a weak armed QB with no pocket presence who would not even be in the NFL if he didn't play for the biggest, fastest college team in the country in 2010.

Don't worry it's just a fake competition manufactured by the media and the Jets are playing them all by giving Geno 1st team snaps.

Exactly. The funny thing is there are. Reporters telling fans basically how to think but we all know their football iq is pretty mediocre.
So how can you take their word that one qb is doing so much better until you see with your own eyes?

As matter of fact we had a great write up from a member abt their visit to camp and that was the most compete coverage in all camp. But he's a fan and gave a better insight to camp then these reporters. So how do you believe them? Esp since some of them can't tell who is who if you read their Twitter lol

Here's things we've heard about Mark so far

-throwing behind a receiver on an out
    -throwing at a receivers feet(twice)
    -interceptions, bad ones
    -falling on his ass
    -underthrowing intermediate routes
    -almost throwing picks to linemen
