You got that right--- we need a guy like Parcells. When Parcells took over the Pats, at his first press conference he said : "These players are gonna do things my way, and if any of them don't do things my way, then they're not gonna be here very long." THAT is the kind of coach we need, not a cheerleader like Saleh.
Angry coaches don't do any better than nice coaches - the only thing that matters is results and how you get them is irrelevant - you see plenty of angry/tough guy coaches that fail just as often as "arm round the shoulder" type coaches
I wonder if Saleh understands how stupid he looks when he constantly talks about a championship roster that he just can't coach out of a hole. He gives us weekly verbal reminders just how unqualified he is.
I think the look on his face and his overall posture and demeanor at press conferences illustrate just how much he understands.
This is all true. However, (god if this is even possible) whichever coach is able to come into this team and actually build them into a Super Bowl champion and a consistent winner.....THAT guy will be able to sit down at any restaurant and never pay for a meal again. He would be a GOD! These narcissistic guy who seek fame and glory (see Harbaugh) would consider this the ultimate challenge with the ultimate reward. I don't care WHAT it costs. The Raiders signed "Chucky" to a TEN YEAR $100 million deal. The Jets need to do that but it does have to be someone like Harbaugh. I guess the real ultimate "tell" will be if the Jets actually DO offer up some kind of package like that, and it is turned down.... Yeah, it might be time to find new ownership if that happens because it will convey a whole lot!
