I gave it a B. I love the day one pick's. Day two is "eehhh."... T.Jones is a beast that'll prove to be a keeper. I understand everyone who feels we need to beef up the OL. Penni isn't mobile. His dink and dunk off. Only works if he's protected. I would like to see them bring in someone to compete against Chad,Kellen and Mar'puk'is. (Not a fan of T"raider" players). Chad is a leader. I can even deal w/ his arm strength, but IMO. We need a QB that is an all around player. And that includes scramblin', slingin' and game mng'n. Hope I aint insult any penny or kellen fans. But hell I'd like to see what B.Smith could do behind center for a whole game. (Even a half). I know I'm driftin off subject. But com' on. Its been 39yrs. I'm 30yrs old, and been a long time jets fan. When's it gonna be our time to shine?
Not two. Three. Thomas Jones is part of that equation. A Starting Corner, A Starting LB, and a Franchise (for now) RB. For the price of a fourth and a fifth.....and the two guys we picked up were rated to go between rounds 3 and 5 and fill needs, a Guard/Tackle, and speed on the perimeter. Those two picks will see siginificant playing time this season, so you will have 3 major, 2 minor contributors out of this draft...
Deadspin likes the Jets draft ... http://deadspin.com/sports/about-last-night/about-last-night-256645.php What you missed while betting it all on the Jets ...
Why do I remeber the buzz around here when we drafted Miller in one of the deepest CB drafts in the history of the league? CB is a position that is never "can't miss" and even the very good ones take a couple of years to develop. Not that I don't like the pick because we sure can use another good CB but I'm not sold at all that this year this kid improves are secondary. I would be very happy if he is an effective nickel for most of the season and works he's way into the lineup at some point. Harris is either going to add depth or replace Barton which will be a downgrade for at least a year.
Injuries in the NFL are not freakish, they are routine. It's the absence of injuries that is freakish.
