Another cool thing about this trade is it’s given me a reason to care about the NFC west. I’ll actually be invested in every one of those games next season.
It sucks to lose a player of Jamal's caliber, but given the situation the JETS did very well...... just need to score on those draft picks!
Agree with Stinky. On paper it may be an A. But we ll see what the outcome is in the next 3-5 years, hopefully Joe P will make solid pick ups from at least 2 of the 3 new picks.
Its an A based on previous comparative trades. He got as much or more than the Raiders got for Khalil Mack, who is a better play at a high value position. Obviously, I'll need to see how the draft picks play out to truly judge the trade. Judging by how the Jets managed the 2020 draft with a second rounder, I'm very excited to see how they manage the draft with an additional first rounder.
I disagree. Adam's replacement is better in coverage. Mosely and Williamson coming back and we are better at CB this year also. I'm also a big fan of Maye and think he will step up and along with Davis, we will have a great defense. Providing they stay healthy.
It’s an A+ I’m on the opposite side of the fence when it comes to 2021 picks. I think they have even more value because the free agent market is all about guaranteed money and the Jets seem to have to over pay for any good FA. This team can now truly be built from the inside out. Yes, there is less live action and less tape on the kids BUT when you have an eye for talent usually you can tell immediately if he’s got “it”. I trust JDs eye for talent so far.
It’s not too early to judge the trade, it’s an easy A plus to get that kind of compensation for a player who doesn’t play a premier position and had flown off the handle. I’ll judge the draft picks after they’re made
I'm with you I would rather build through the draft. But what has been the Jets weakness over a decade? Finding a pass rusher. Being that the Jets are nowhere near competing I would hold on to these picks until the team is close.
Just stumbled on this on twitter, somebody had put it up as a funny gif but I think it is a little bit of different humour for a Jets fan
I love Jamal Adams. The trade was an A. But there are some misconceptions: "his toxicity and inflated self-worth..." someone said. Jamal Adams was only toxic to people NOT in the clubhouse. He was toxic to the vocal minority who want their black players silent and docile. So, they were willing to trade away a great player just because of their own toxicity and inflated self worth. I'm sorry that the Jets won't have Jamal. But the value they got was exceptional and it seems like Joe Douglas knows how he wants to use it, which is the most important part of the trade.
It has nothing to do with wanting to keep "their black players silent and docile" and instead has everything to do with a player acting like a spoiled brat, whining to the media, demanding his way, bad-mouthing his fellow players, his HC, his GM, his team's owner, and creating a distraction and negative atmosphere when the GM is trying to establish a new culture.
