Given the circumstances, it's an easy A in my book.

I don't see how JD could've done better with all that was considered. By far, exceeded my expectations.

It hurts a little as a fan, feels a little like a break-up of sorts, but I think this was an obvious situation you couldn't pass on If you were JD and the Jets.

    Great job.

Taking into account what a punk ass douche bag Jamal is and how he fucked the trade value - this is an A+
We might swing and miss on the picks but getting them for this malcontent fucking twat is great

  4. Team could always package picks to move up & take a quality over quantity approach to fill a need in a big way w perhaps a safer pick given the uncertainty of draftees having a senior yr & having to depend on junior tape. There are some no brainers for the 21 class at the very top..rather than risk wasting picks due to incomplete scouting data, move up for one of the presumed no brainers.

Youd still have a few picks in the 21 draft & obviously would have the security blanket of having stacked ammo for 2022 to take more of a prudent quantity approach as the scouting process returns to normal

Great value considering the player was driving down any potential return by the minute.

Let's see. On the one hand, Adams is a prima donna, albeit an elite safety. On the other, Gase is viewed by pretty much everyone outside this fanbase as a bottom 5 coach, Darnold for all the bad luck he's had is still wildly inconsistent, the skill position talent is below average, the GM has gotten into fights with two players now, and the owners remain morons. So I don't think Adams was our main problem going forward.

This is an absolute A+ for us.

In any universe - if a team calls up and offers this package you say yes.

Even if Adams were a model citizen.

It's too much draft capital to not say yes for a luxury position like SS. This is the kind of offer that would be laughed off if it were suggested by one of us fans. I can easily see someone saying "this isn't Madden bro"

No one would argue we got more than expected. With that said draft picks mean nothing if you don't use them right. Seen plenty of trades where the only notable player ended up being the star that got traded and the multiple draft picks were nvr heard from.

The GM has not gotten into fights with two players. JD stayed quiet and professional. Osemele and Adams were the ones making all the noise. By all appearances, JD has done nothing wrong. Just because many people view Gase as a bottom 5 HC, that doesn't mean that he is, but even if he is, that doesn't mean he's a bigger problem than their star player acting like a whiny bitch and creating a situation where he had to be traded. Gase can always be fired at the end of the 2020 season if the team doesn't perform up to expectations, and if he isn't a good HC, then it's no loss. It is a loss to lose your best player and a player who has true HOF potential.

We'll just have to agree to disagree, because we see this radically differently.

I don't see how anyone could give this trade a B. That's just mind boggling. After all the crap Jamal said publicly, no one thought the Jets would be able to get anything decent in return, especially not two 1st round picks, and then he topped that with a starting safety and a 3rd round pick. This is an A+ trade no doubts about it.

    A+ for sure.

Joe Douglas deserves every accolade imaginable for pulling this trade off. Having no leverage whatsoever with potential suitors, especially thanks to Adams' press tirade over the past couple of days, and he lands a trade haul comparable to what he would have gotten for dealing a QB. And all of that for a safety. Brilliant.

JD stayed quiet and professional publicly, but considering it's two players now, that makes me think he may not have been so quiet and professional privately. And a bottom 5 head coach is a huge problem because it will probably result in another losing season, and it will waste another year of Darnold's development. The haul from the Seahawks is very good, but odds are Adams is going to win more games in Seattle than we will going forward.

A+ if we use the picks wisely (1 x pass rusher, 1 x wide receiver).

I care less about on-the-bubble McDougald who we seem to be wildly overrating already. I think Davis is going to need to step up immediately to help out.

I grade it a C+ Slightly above expected value

The whole Adams situation was handled very poorly by the FO. It should never have come to this. We finally draft a HoF and team leader who inspires his teammates and we piss him off with poor communication. This situation was handled terribly by Gase and Douglas. The only guy here that is absolved of blame is Williams who continued to stand by and support Adams.

On it's face 2 first round picks is quite a haul. Looking closer at the trade and the value might be much less. Looking at the trade value chart a mid 1st round pick would be of much greater value when you consider that a future pick (2022) loses one round in value. Then take into account the uncertainty of the 2021 draft and the value is even less. The Cowboys offer last year and before the draft was of greater value. The FO misplayed this. Decided they wanted Adams long term. mishandled communication letting things blow up and then had to take a lesser offer. That being said considering the circumstances that existed yesterday 2 firsts, and a starting safety is more than one could have expected.

Overall I have mixed feelings. Douglas' reputation is one of a communicator and a mediator. Someone who is approachable. There have been a number of problems with players the last year who have had poor communication with the FO that never needed to happen. Oso, Enunwa, and Adams now twice. I don't if the problem is just Gase or Douglas' reputation as the great communicator is overblown. All that being said I am excited about the draft picks and I hopefully we can get and OG and OT out of those picks. Rebuilding the OL is ultimately more important than a great safety,
