It was sweet. I have never seen a non-call by officials challenged, ever. I quite frankly don't see how it can be done. I think it has to be stipulated in the off-season. How many times to officials miss holding calls or pass interference calls. How many times do officials miss calling penalties.........period? If this is not addressed it will set a new precedent in football. I, for one, did not like it. I thought it was BB Bull Shit, even though the Giants clearly did have 12 men on the field. Let this be the start of the Great Patriots Collapse. The Giants showed how you have to play the Pats to beat them. You have to give them everything you have. You have to pressure the heck out of Brady and sit him on his ass regularly. When he has no time, he can't hurt you as much. Easier said than done, but the Giants did it. The Giants had a superlative defensive effort in today's game - really, really spectacular. Spagnola looked like he was on speed for most of the game. IMO, he was the most valuable player. That catch by Tyne (85) down the stretch was one of the great catches in Super Bowl history. Tyne looked like he stuck a fork in the ball. My hat is off to the G-men.
I've always been amazed at how everybody says that Brady can't get shaken up yet when he gets pressure and gets hit on a regular basis, he falls apart just like any other 6th round draft choice. Lets be honest here. He's a good QB playing in a GREAT system but, he is not this infallible hero that the media have made him out to be. This game could be the beginning of the end for N.E.* This is how you beat the Pats. Pure physical smash mouth football.
The Giants match up very well against the Pats because they can get great pressure with the front 4. They don't have to blitz to put Brady on his ass. This is how you beat the Pats... put Brady on his ass without bringing extra blitzers.
They blitzed like crazy tonight. They were the first team in awhile that showed the balls to man up and bring it on every play.
Not quite, while they were able to get some pressure without blitzing, they still blitzed a lot. You have to mix it up on them and that is what finished off the Pats.
They blitzed sometimes, but a lot of that pressure was just their front 4. They had a few times when a LB got in there, but mostly it was the DL who were around Brady knocking him on his ass.
When you get a chance to look at the tap they were bringing pressure all the time they hardly ever dropped a LB back and let Welker and Faulk run wild underneath practically ignoring them.
Yes they were ! I kept thinking that they would be burned for a long one but the secondary stayed with their recievers and I guesse the rest is history.
I love all of you, each and every Jet Fan, tonight was a great night. Enjoy and remember this- the beginning of new era. I love all of you.
