Those list of names are why I can't see the Jets experiencing a letdown. Not only are those guys are pretty much at the end of their careers but there's been lots of articles on how T-Rich & LT have taken some type of leadership role on the team. They're not just hiding in the backgrounds hoping this team pull through. === Jets can lose this game but it's only going to be because Steelers are a damn good team. Not a letdown or some other emotional crap like that.
Something that seems to get forgotten about that AFCCG last year is that we lost a key player on both sides of the ball during the game. Everyone remembers Greene going down but I don't see much mention of Bart Scott also going down. Injuries are always a wild card during the game but I have to assume lightning isn't going to strike twice.
Hopefully they weather any possible early storms by the steelers, if they do they are in great shape. Jets have been slow starters, but they get stronger as the game goes on. they have been huge in finishing games off. Not letdown in sight for sunday.
I'm scared myself, but I feel this team can do it this year. They seem more hungrier than any team still in the playoffs.
The only way they lose is if they beat themselves, much like the Ravens did. Pitt is not an explosive team but they are tough and experienced. Gonna have to fight all day and minimize mistakes until Pitt makes one themselves. We can do this!
agreed, not afraid of a let down, as a matter of fact I think Rex is doing a great job at getting the team focused on "winning the AFC Championship" as opposed to getting to the Super Bowl. no mistakes, no turnovers, Jets win.........a lot easier said than done as the Steelers and thier fans did a great job of rattling the Ravens, who basically gave away the game or at least control of the game.
as far as losing goes, yes i'm worried. but i'm not worried about s.o.j. the steelers are very tough, and this game will be a hard one too win, but we can do it.
i think they are playing well enough to win the game handily as well. would be nice to see the boys come out with a strong first quarter this time around. if they stop any of the early storms the steelers may have, they will be looking good, they seem to get better as the game goes on as of late.
To be honest I wasn't worried or scared at all for a single second last week. Even all week leading up to it & the way the Bart Scott ended it last week with that interview made me more confident in our team. I luv them win or lose BUT I don't fear any team. Let's do this! Go jets!!
jacksonville beat the steelers in pittsburg twice in 2008. once in week 15 and again in the playoffs. i've never seen the jets this focused. ryan will have them ready on sunday. it will be a close one (again)...but they will come out on top.
If we win, I want it to be without question. If we lose, without question. We have lost a couple AFCCG's that really should not have due to uncharacteristic play for that one game. That made it so much tougher to tolerate. Conversely if we win the game, I do not want any doubtful calls or fluke reasons to diminish it.
No let downs we aint no slap dick team (we proved that in indy) we understand theres a price to pay for being great ( we proved that in new england) from here on out rex got this team hungry for a goddamn snack --- AJAD
As a Jets/Mets/Knicks fan I can't help but feel pessimistic. I just always feel like I'm never gonna see any of them win. :rofl2: I just feel like I'll believe it when I see it. So yeah, I'm worried about a letdown. Every thing right now feels a little bit too good too be true.
Maybe Rex should show that game to the team and have Craig or someone from that team talk to our boys the night before the game?
I think a let down is a distinct possibility - there was so much damn emotion tied to that New England game. I see a good chance of the team coming out flat - let's just hope if they do that they can snap out of it before Pitt can pile up some scores.
I'm also a jets nets and knicks fan. Jets are on the come up as are the knicks since they will make the playoffs this year. Mets are in a rebuilding year but moving in the right direction so cheer up! Things will only get better for our teams. Oh and about Sunday. CAN'T WAIT.
