Pedros already getting roughed up. This must suck for Nady. He could have been on this Mets team heading to the post-season.
Remember the last time Pedro came back he gave up 4 runs in the first inning, and then was lights out for three games (until he got hurt again). More to the point, the Mets continue to be ineffectual against lefty starters. Anybody notice how Green dove into first base? I was not upset - he actually did it for a good reason, to avoid the tag.
For what possible reason? The Mets are winning the division anyway, so there's no sense of urgency, and (in fact) I'll bet people would be unhappy if the Mets lost and then got in because Houston beat Philly later on.
Fans would rather the Mets win the game tonight,but if they don't, and Houston wins, then they will be just as happy that they clinched.
I'd prefer to see the Mets celebrate the clinch after a W, but for playoff positioning a Phillies loss is more important then this luxury.
I find it very odd that about 45 minutes after he left they still have said nothing about whether Pedro was hurt in the game or not.
