And it stalled his career. He takes some of the blame as well. But Shanahan didn't help him at all is my point.

So he gets the excuses and Geno just sucks when on bad teams? In case you haven't seen RG3 much he makes the same mistakes Geno has.

Our OL gets a bad rap but I thought they were a decent unit in both pass pro and running... Not elite but decent in both areas.

Sometimes all a player needs is too go somewhere else to excel. With the Skins the hype was tremendous especially after year one... We all know the downside but I think that talent just doesn't vanish.. In Chans system he has all the tools to be great and doesn't need to read Ds as much as in a standard Gruden style O.

Thing is if it doesn't work it really didn't cost us any assets and little cap space..

Yeah sometimes a change of scenary is def. a must... but idk. im hoping our back up qb is irrelevant next year.

But as far as our o-line i thought they were near garbage just had the players ( Fitz Ivory and Powell) to make plays regardless. Some games they were good but against teams with any type of threat on the line they were bad. Only team they really impressed me against was the Dolphins twice.. but their d-line was overrated as hell this year. Games that we lost i feel like our o-line did the minimal. May even be the sole reason we lost some of those games... Oakland game excluded

This isn't accurate at all. RGIII was rookie of the year and had a great first season. It wasn't until after he got hurt that he started that things went bad.

So it's not a case of learning, which is Geno's problem. He just keeps making the same mistakes over and over.

BTW, I am not saying the Jets should go after him, just that they are very different players with different issues. RG3's ceiling is still way higher than Geno's and always was.

I could see him in Dallas before he ever comes to the Jets.

Assuming Fitzpatrick and Petty are both back, where do you go for your third Qb?

Imo the Jets are content to go with Fitzpatrick as the starter, and the take on Petty that Macc had that we talked about last week at a minimum means he will be in the mix as a potential at No. 2.

Now, if Fitz is back then it's unlikely the Jets want to get a STARTER as a vet in either FA or by trade. That doesn't mean they will definitely not get another vet Qb to complement Fitzpatrick. But it makes no sense to pay big dollars for one.

The other consideration is I do not think the Jets are anywhere near settled on Petty as the future Qb for the franchise. I think it therefore makes more sense to draft another Qb with a high pick if a BPA type choice falls to them. Certainly makes more sense than to pay anything significant for a vet Qb if they already have Fitz.

No. Fitz stays....and it appears he can be the second coming of Gannon the Cannon. A career never was that caught fire and got to the promised land.

Evaluate Petty. Hope Cardale Jones gets injured or we go 1-15. Lol

Not a fan. Don't like his game or his attitude. NY would eat him alive.

I agree that Geno probably isn't going anywhere unless the Jets draft a QB in this draft. In that scenario he's definitely gone.

I think you're wrong about Petty. Did you read the article I posted a few days ago where Mac and Kevin Patullo (our QB coach) talk about his development? I think he will definitely be ready to back up Fitz, and if he's given the opportunity to compete for the position, think he would definitely beat Geno out, and may even give Fitz a run for his money.

No it isn't always Anti-Geno folks who bring Geno up for discussion first. I've seen both sides do it countless times.

As I said earlier I'd take RGlll if the price is right because I'd rather be grooming him than Geno. Simple as that. They both are not starters ATM but I just don't care for Geno the knucklehead.

Now, if our FO is planning to draft a QB then all bets are off. We add Geno's 5ook dead money and 1 m cap hit to the cut pile. With only a 1 m cap boost I doubt GRIII becomes affordable. So it's the draft or one more year of Geno.

Geno has never had the success RG3 has had in the pros. Even if only for one season.

Well he'd have his choice of where he would want to go to. Not saying he'd come here, but there are far worse things the Jets could do.
