That's what I thought at first too but once upon a time the Jets had a really good kicker named Pat Leahy.

This won made me laugh... over the years this team has always managed to win these games they are not supposed too. Well personally, I am glad they won, I really didn't want to join the 0-16 list.

Agreed SOJAZ. People here are severely underestimating the lasting impact that an 0-16 season can have on an organization.

I agree, solid win. Let's get a nice little 3 game win streak to feel good about entering next season with the 'genius' Gase.

I mostly agree with the OP, except the part about Gase calling a good game. Continuing to run a 38 year old RB into the LOS paly after play is NOT a good game plan. Had Gore been still out injured and they used the other RBs they would've probably scored 35 and it would've been a rout.

While I'm a little disappointed they set themselves back in the race for the #1 pick, I'm happier they won and the players did well - except for Austin who had a terrible game - and that Darnold showed some of the ability he flashed before Gase got his hands on him.

And maybe this finally stops people talking about the "tank", which was never happening. Not Douglas, not Gase, not the players. This shows the Jets DO have something to build upon - assuming they get rid of Gase. That's the only 'negative" from today - the possibility that this win convinces CJ that he was right all along - Gase REALLY IS a genius.

Boy, have you got a wrong number. The fans did not deserve this win. We deserved 3 more losses and Trevor Lawrence! GTFO with that great to get a win BS!

    And?

Everyone felt this was a sure fire Rams win. Jets flying back across the country. Rams came out flat and the Jets played WELL. There’s no guarantees in football. Also those folks in Jacksonville aren’t trying to lose, they are just as bad as the Jets. But who knows...those guys may come out hot and win next week against a “hot Bears team”.

This was a nice win. Get more good players and it will not be so unusual. People on this board need realize that good teams have talent in all areas. The Jets have very few guys who would start for other teams. Picking second or third and trading down will upgrade the club across the board.

Call me a sucker, i get the ramifications... but always glad to see my team's win.

Also, Hall seems to be developing every game. He already appears better than Bless.

We need these guys to develop. I just hope Maye doesn't walk because he's tired of losing. I get we need a FQB, but a secondary with real ball skills is a must in today's nfl as a pass rush.

Cmon man.. not only did we loose the chance at Lawrence but we list an opportunity to land a quality coach. Nobody will want to coach this team now.. and whoever it is I guarantee will be a coordinator that we will need to get lucky will be good.

That is silly. You win with players like Becton and Williams. Get more of them and who cared who the coach is.

I’m reading the last time the Jets beat the Rams out in LA was 1970. Great timing.....lol.

The Browns had good players last year and went 6-10 because of bad coaching.

I was thinking the same thing. I remember the 1991 Monday night game at Chicago where he blew two field goals including a real short one in OT which obviously would have ended the game. Also remember a makeable miss in OT against the Pats in 1978 I think.

Yes that 1978 game wound up costing them a playoff berth. About ten minutes after that game ended a guy named Herman Edwards picked up a fumble at the Meadowlands and scored a game winning TD ........

Yep same day. Both games ended 19-17, both played at home in NY area and at the same time. For a long time afterwards the two teams never played at the same time...

Players are 90%. GM's are much more important than coaches in the NFL.
