...Sam had a great game, defense played with great heart in shutting down Goff and Company and Gase called a good game. Good to finally get in the win column. Great job, guys. Players and fans deserved it, especially after Gregg Williams threw that game against Oakland. Good win against a good NFC team that is heading to the playoffs. I wouldn't doubt that we can pick up one more win against the Pats, who now have nothing to play for and who look absolutely ATROCIOUS with Cam Newton under center. If we can beat the Rams on the road, we can defintiely beat the worst Patriots team Belichick has ever had, esp with Cam Newton's corpse playing QB. This win proves that our players and coaches are still PLAYING TO WIN and GIVING IT THEIR ALL and that they can beat good teams.
This win proves that even the losers get lucky some times. In this case, this win was very unlucky for the fans. But these are the Jets...no batteries included...
Why this franchise will always be a laughing stock. Nothing good came out of winning today. OBLIVIOUS
I don't care if the board crucifies me, but I agree 100% with OP . I didn't and don't want my team to ever finish 0-16. I was rooting for the jets the whole game. I KNOW this win may have cost us the chance at TL, but I'm really happy for the jets players. They have a cross country trip tonight and for once it will be a happy flight. As for draft position, this loss may move us down, but it gives us a lot of flexibility now on draft day (assuming no change). The jets have a slew of draft needs (actually I can't think of a position where there is NOT a need, except d-line and possibly safety and THAT is assuming Maye resigns. Drafting in the 2nd or 3rd spot, perhaps Douglas can fleece a team the same way Mike MacMoron GOT fleeced in 2018 when he traded the number 6 overall and THREE second picks with the Colts just to move up three spots (No, the pick was not to get Sam--the draft was still a month away). Anyway, today's win saves all returning jets players from six months of offseason ridicule for going winless, and saves our team from forever being part of any future 0-16 discussion. Also, it possibly sets up the jets to possible SEVERAL holes in the 2021 draft with trade downs. I can't believe even the Johnsons would so stupid as to retain Gase based upon today's win, but I guess we'll find out.
I agree BUT......what happens if Jax wins next week and now it’s week 17 with the Jags 2-13 and Jets 1-14? Are you still rooting for the Jets ? Oh and Gase won’t be back regardless....
Its not like we've only fckd ourselves out of a generational talent, but our win over the Rams just put Seattle in better position and that means our #1 pick from them in the Adams trade is now worth less.. This was a very costly victory. I'm sure Jax is very happy for us.
Jets beat the Raiders (yeah, I know) and now flew back across county and knocked off the 10-4 Rams. Heck, we even rattled off 6 wins in a row last season. Maybe, just maybe, Jets AREN'T the worse team in nation. Maybe the Jags, a team WITHOUT a QB, is worse and a bit more deserving? God knows we WANT trevor, and would gladly draft him, but think how much more we'd want Trevor if our future QB was Christian Hackenberg. No really, think about it. That's the boat the Jags are in. All we need is a good HC and some good drafting. The Jags need a lot more. But here's to hoping the Jags have just enough to beat the Bears!
The Bears are actually looking pretty good since Nagy relinquished the play-calling. Trubisky and the offense have had their best 2 games of the season. They are actually moving the ball efficiently and scoring points for the first time all season. They also still have A LOT to play for, since they are still in the running for the last playoff spot and both Nagy and Pace are basically fighting for their jobs. I doubt the Jags beat them, esp since it certainly appears like the Jags are tanking for Trevor.
