man, it never surprises me how quickly some people cheer one day and are ready to trash and bash the next. What chad is doing everyone on this board would do. No one in here would take a paycut plain and simple but because chad won't some automatically want to bash him and throw him out on the street. You know damn well if chad was healthy you would be his biggest cheerleader while wearing his jersey. We all knew he wasn't going to agree to the paycut so why the hostility toward him? It's unfortunate that chad will never realize his goals in green and white but that doesn't mean that we should now bash him on his way out.

That's why they are called IRA's. No loyalty and very little thought.

Not coincidentally, the real Ira called Fruit Loops and the Emporer and told them he was fine with cutting Penny and drafting a QB (Cutler) at #4.

Whatever happens is fine with Ira and most of the dopes in here.

If he gets cut, he doesn't collect a single DIME!

What check are you talking about? If he's cut, the most he's getting on the open market is 455K + incentives. The Jets will and can offer him the best he'll get. If they cut him, he gets NOTHING. I wish I knew what check you were discussing.

Your actin like this guy fucked us over. He was only injury prone and could of been good had he not got injured its not his fault he was just unlucky. He played hurt for us 2004 in the playoffs and at the end of the season which shows hes a true team player. Him not giving up his paycut wasnt so much all of him. His agent didnt want him to take it.

It's obvious most of the people talking about how he 'shouldn't have to give MONEY BACK' don't understand crap about how NFL contracts work. Maybe someone with more patients than I, can make a new thread to point out how he's not giving back anything by taking a pay cut. He's just not going to collect a huge salary for sitting on his ass this year.

BTW, this isn't restricted to this thread. I've read similarly misinformed comments here all day.

    bonus money

He is not "owed" any bonus money. That is paid at the inception of the contract. He keeps that no matter what happens. The bonus is spread out over the course of the contract for cap reasons. That means if we keep him, the 12 Mil remaining is spread out, but if we cut him, it all hits next season. He was a great guy and I was proud to have him as our QB, but he is DONE. One million (plus incentives) is the best deal he is gonna get, and he should have taken it. Thanks for your all CP!

Yea Chad make a sacrifice for the team... RIGHT... he's teh most selfish bastard I've ever seen... If he wanted to help the TEAM, he would have admitted he was too hurt to throw a 10 yard out and Jay would have been starting... SO damn selfiish... Chad reminds me of some kiss-ass coach's son in little league...

How messed up would it be if Chad goes to Miami and wins the SB.

How was he HELPING the team? He was clearly hurting us... I could LITERALLY throw a better ball than him when his shoulder was falling off... How the hell do you let a seasoned vet like Fiedler sit the bench when you are hurt that badly? SIMPLE. You are afraid of loosing YOUR STARTING JOB... This is being SELFISH and HURTING the team, not HELPING IT.... If he was a team player, he would have told Herm he couldn't go, helpd Jay with the offense, and might be fully healed by the start of THIS season...

What you said is based on pure speculation as none of us know the truth of whether he was actually "rushed" back too soon. Remember, the new injury may be in the same shoulder, but it's not the same spot as the first tear.

How could he have been "rushed?" He's his own man... in the end it's him making the decision on whether he is healthy enough to play or not... Maybe he MASKED how hurt he actually was if anything...

Maybe, but since its not the same tear spot, its not a re-injury but a separate one.
